saving dictator slider setting in reaper

Hello,
I'm working on a project in reaper with turnado.
Unfortunately, I found out that turnado doesn't save the postition of the dicator slider. Is there a way to do that?
The slider is very sensitive and it's very hard to find that sweet spot I tried to save in a previous session. I use 3 instances of turnado in 1 session and I have to set up all sliders before I can playback the session... Everytime, turnado sounds slightly different because of that.
Thanks for your help.

Please download the fresh 1.0.1 update, it should be fixed then.
Make sure the "Reset after load" setting is off,
best

The position of the sliders are saved now. Thanks for that but there's something I don't understand;
Some presets which I tweak, are mute after saving and re-opening a reaper-session.
I take -for instance- the preset called 'keyable', tweak the dicator button, save it and when I re-open, it mutes. When I disable turnado, I can hear the original music but all that turnado does, is muting the track.
Is there a reason why? It doesn't happen with all presets but it's very discouraging when you have been tweaking a preset for half a hour and all it does after re-opening a session is mute...
I don't know which presets do this and which don't. It's like playing russian roulette.
There must be a logical explanation.

Ok,
Here is a really concrete example; I opened the 'destroymusic' preset on hihats (which are routed from another channel). The only slider I change is the dictator slider.
I save the reaper session and after re-opening it's mute although all settings are saved. No way I can get it to work properly. So ATM this plugin is complete useless for me...
It doesn't happen with all settings but I don't know when it will happen...
EDIT; I tried on windwos 7 64-bit, windows XP 32-bit, I tried several vsti's (nerve, sylenth1, dune). All the same, no sound after re-opening in reaper although all settings load correct.

Can't you just insert a little cc automation at the beginning of the track to place the slider exactly where you want?manducator wrote:Ok,

The problem is that settings are saved after the 1.01 update but some presets just mute after re-opening reaper, evne with turnado displaying the right settings.stimresp wrote:Can't you just insert a little cc automation at the beginning of the track to place the slider exactly where you want?
I just wonder if someone can reproduce the same problem. I can, on two pc's.

I don;t think it's a problem - it's the same if you switch dictator presets - nothing happens until you move the knob. You have to tell Turnado to do something.manducator wrote:The problem is that settings are saved after the 1.01 update but some presets just mute after re-opening reaper, evne with turnado displaying the right settings.stimresp wrote:Can't you just insert a little cc automation at the beginning of the track to place the slider exactly where you want?

You can move the knob using cc at the start of the track and it should work just fine, no?

Aha, so turnado doesn't do a thing without moving sliders, or automate them? So I can't put them in a particular setting and keep them that way, because they mute? I thought it was possible...stimresp wrote:I don;t think it's a problem - it's the same if you switch dictator presets - nothing happens until you move the knob. Well, that is making sense to me, I thought you could use it also in a static position.
Thank you very much for your help, stimresp.
I have a lot of Sugar Bytes stuff and I like them all, I just didn't get how to use turnado. Bear with me, I'm getting there...

Hmm, hang on. I think I'm wrong. You CAN save your dicatator settings and they will activate automatically upon project reload. In the settings dialogue, uncheck 'reset after load'. It was mentioned in the other thread. Sorry for my confusion.
I spent some time with Turnado last night. Great fun! Lots of possibilities, also for subtle uses, but it's hard to resist twisting those knobs

Yes, as I mentioned before, all settings can be saved, that's not the problem. The problem is that some settings were mute after re-opening a session but I found out what the problem is:stimresp wrote:You CAN save your dicatator settings and they will activate automatically upon project reload.
You have to turn down the automation in the beginning to have some input for turnado to work with, that's all.
Here's a picture:

Here you see the automation of the dictator slider of two exactly the same presets (it's the preset 'vocodized', nr. 12 in factory bank 4, if you are interested).
The most upper automation doesn't start at zero and mutes after re-opening a session, although it plays before saving and closing reaper. But it mutes after re-opening a saved session because it doesn't have dry input. That was confusing for me, it's like it just stops working.
The automation in the lower part starts at zero and this track plays perfectly the way I want it to. So the difference between a fine working plugin and confusion is just one automation point...
I'm a bit disappointed that the developer doesn't respond to this topic (well, he did by posting that there's an update but that didn't solve the problem). After all, this is the official help support, isn't it?
Greetz,
manducator
