FL started up as a very simple loop programmer for Windows. The ipad version reminds me of it's humble beginnings, which is quite nice in some ways. But as an ipad App it's looking a but lacking compared to some of the stuff already out. However, I think it's great to see FL making an appearance on ipad. If it's progression is anything like that on PC then this could well develope into a very exciting product for ipad.

Same here. If they don't update it with synth, it's gonna be my most useless ipad apps purchase. Now the feature of it feels so limited compared to the other competitor in ipad sequencer apps.Mushy Mushy wrote:No synth and no plugin support (obviously), so what do i do with it?

..which is no suprise, since it actually is Music Studio reskinned and with IL samples, Drum pads and a step seq added. FL Mobile is developed in corporation with Xewton, so Music Studio is it's basic engine.wakax wrote:looks like "Music Studio" reskined

Cool. What about the other upcoming Music Studio upgrades? Will FL studio be upgraded with audio tracks and copy and paste for transfer between apps?Image-Line wrote:Not yet, that is scheduled for later.electrik wrote:Q: can it record audio via builtin mic?

I bought the iPhone version begrudgingly as I carry my phone around more than my iPad. But I agree, a separate iPad version that basically makes you buy the software twice if you change resolution is a kick in the teeth.ebow wrote:count me out, too...no upgrade path for a resolution change ??Vnex007 wrote:I'm afraid so, otherwise I would buy it immediately.am i correct in thinking that you need to buy 2 separate versions if you plan on using it on ipod and ipad ??....never mind, looks to be way behind the curve
To be honest, as much as I love the workflow and ease of use of this software, I'm feeling quite disappointed with it. For the price (even the £8.99 introduction price) I feel the software should do a lot more, especially when you consider what Xenon Groove Synthesizer can do for £2.99 and what NanoStudio can do for £8.99 - and when FL Studio Mobile goes up in price it's going to be the most expensive of the three.
For £8.99 regular price with an intro price of £4.99 I would have considered I'd got a bargain (and would probably have splashed out on both versions), but it's just not there yet in terms of functionality and value when compared to other similar apps on the app store. Here's hoping they go feature-crazy with updates, and fast

I bought the iPad version yesterday and I was surprised to have to pay a premium over the iPhone version. The workflow isn't bad, but the app is severely limited by being sample-based with no synths. The range of sample instruments is very limited and there's an uneasy mix of sampled FL Studio VSTis and acoustic samples belonging to the original Xewton Music Studio. Apart from the FL Studio-type step sequencer, you'd really be hard pushed to recognise anything FL Studio about it. You can import MIDI files, but it's hard to see why one would want to do that, as the sample instruments are so limited. Producing tracks with the MIDI event complexity of some of the demos would also be frankly impossible. Whilst Image Line may add sampling quite soon, it would take a lot of improvements to make me switch my allegiance away from Nanostudio, which simply offers so much more for less, and in particular, a decent synth and a decent mixer.audington wrote:I bought the iPhone version begrudgingly as I carry my phone around more than my iPad.
