Pretty cool!

I'm more and more tempted to incorporate a sample->wavetable importer in Zebra...

You mean, it would analyze the sample and form 16 waves in a wavetable according to how the sample decays through time? That's something ye olde PPG Waveterms and Waldorf Waves did.

Think of it this way....that would probably be a profitable decision (more potential customers via yet another selling point for an already outstanding synth). Just trying to make a case for why that awesome feature is a good idea. :hihi:
As someone else mentioned, the PPG Waveterm had that feature, so it's a selling point to target PPG Waveterm fans.

One thing I have to say, Urs. I'm very impressed with all these generous Zebra updates over the years at absolutely no cost to the users of previous versions. Other companies charge hefty prices for upgrades, but if you get Zebra, you get a synth that just gets better on its own with no impact on the wallet.

If said wav import could space an imported sound out over all the wavetables, you'd have one leg up on wav2zebra and Blueberry Thing (Although BT does at least allow it be done manually!)

Would it be possible to say what the maximum length is for it to be played back at original speed at, say, 440hz? I mean, will every singlecycle always take the same amount of time, no matter its contents, or am I just misunderstanding the entire thing?

If it is possible, you could potentially warn people their sample will be squashed, or even automatically spread it out over multiple OSC's with everything set up correctly for it to mix? That's within the realm of possibility with zebra scripts, correct?
Anyway, I'm going FR-mad, don't mind me! I just get really excited thinking of the possibilities of importing sound and editing it. Or recording vocal sounds straight into zebra etc.
