Lounge Lizard without Ilok

I am interested in adding Lounge Lizard to my Receptor 2 for live use, but it is listed on this site as "fully compatible" with receptor which means using the .mrpk file and an Ilok license. I hate the Ilok and refuse to use it. If I purchase the actual boxed software, is it installable using the unsupported method? Has anyone tried this? I am looking at the EP-3 version. Thanks!

Hey Carter,

From what we have known to be true no you cannot authorize the plugin on the receptor using the serial number method. If you do not like the Ilok because it sticks out of the machine you can internally mount it inside the Receptor. We do this now for customers (by request). All you have to do is by the internal USB cable (I can send you a pic if you are interested) and mount it down inside the case. Let me know if you need that pic.

Thanks,

Gary,
Thanks for the reply.

My problems with iLok are:

1. It sticks out of the machine and I have already broken one. I realize it can be mounted in the box, but then you have to open the box every time you add a license.

2. Having paid for software, I wish to have control over the license myself. If I were to lose or damage the dongle, I would have to depend on iLok to provide a replacement at some expense, and with some delay.

3. If I purchase a backup dongle to avoid #2, I am, again, paying for another dongle AND paying iLok to copy licenses to it.

I realize that no system is perfect, but the iLok just rubs me the wrong way to the extent that I choose plugins that don't require it. It is a shame that I won't be able to use a great product like Lounge Lizard.

Thanks
Matt

Lounge Lizard is a great program. One major problem on receptor is that the receptorized version is 3.0 The update to 3.1 solves a signifigant issue- in 3.0 notes build up while holding the sustain pedal in a very unpleasant way (and nearly unusable in many circumstances). I talked to Applied Acoustics (Lounge Lizard makers)-they said Muse is in charge of Receptorizing, so talk to them about the issue. I have put in a ticket at plugorama about this and have not gotten a reply. I have not tried to use unsupported install with the non-receptor 3.1 installer, though I am not very certain it would be possible to authorize the program if it did install.

Hi Gary,
i boughy the aas bundle from aas with the black friday christmas reduction 2012
.
I tried to install to receptor vip (plugin by plugin step by step) with the exe file from aas (by download )and mrpk file from plugorama. for example LoungeLizard314.exe en loungelizard3-3_0_0_0-2.mrpk in the drop installers here map.

Install seems to be ok.(no errors from receptor setup tab)
when activating plugin window comes up with ilok license cannot be found.
Where do i get this ilok license? I have an ilok usb key.

Do i have to pay for it on plugorama since i bought the whole aas modelling bundle?

Sincerely,
Tim

Tim,

This all depends on the developer. There is a crossgrade process where AAS charge $49 to get an Ilok license. That can be done here:
http://www.plugorama.com/crossgrades.php?m=cg&id=510

If you have any questions regarding price or terms or use you can contact the developer and they can assist you.

Thanks,
Gary
