orebronerd wrote:Hello, I have a strange problem. I work on a Mac laptop pro, os x 10.6.8 and Cubase 6.02. Zebra 2.51 works fine in 32-bit mode, but doesn't show up in the list for plug ins in 64 bit mode. I have tried to remove old versions, installing new, updating plug-in list etc, but nothing works. The plugs are in the common library directory, and they are in the list in 32-bit mode, but not in 64-bit mode. Other u-he plug-ins show up in 64-bit mode: MFM, Ace etc.
Any suggestions? Bug?
That is a Cubase problem. Not a problem with Zebra
I suggest you visit here. Then you will see others with your same exact problem.

2. What was before the big bang ?

3. What is the formula that bind all things together ?

Answers:

1. But of course

2. Dinner and a movie

3. You refer to the cosmic binderorphus which does not exist. How can we bind anything to anything if we are alone in the universe huh huh?

innerlyte wrote:The default patch when first instantiating Zebra is no longer the blank init patch as it was before (or rather the single saw osc patch). Now it is a detuned saw keyboard sound. When I click "initialize" in the info window or load the initialize patch in the patch explorer, the correct init patch loads. Can someone tell me how to get the default patch back to the old init patch?
We found that many people were put off by the bland sound of a sawtooth when they demo Zebra. But as first impressions are important, we made it a bit bigger and added numerous little improvements to the initialise state :)

To get Zebra to open with the init patch, just do this:

make a copy of "initialize.h2p"
rename it to "default.h2p"

Now a fresh Zebra will always open with default.h2p (must be in the root folder of the presets directory)
I noticed occasional note freezes while switching presets. The only way I could turn off the sustained note/key was to disable Zebra and then enable it again.
We have minimised those note freezes to a minimum thatw as possible without a major rewrite of the event schedule. Freezes should only ever happen if lifting a key coincides with the host rendering during a preset change. It may happen more often with some hosts than with others. Zebra 2.6 will hopefully fix this issue.

To un-hang a hanging note, simply switch "Voices" in the globals section from one mode (few-medium-many) to another and back. That releases all notes.
I didn't like how the new patches were just dumped into the preset folder. I think it'd be nice if they were put within their own directory (like the 2.5 patches were) -- just to keep things tidy!
Hehe, we did that deliberately. We took the old ones (all Zebra 2.3 mode) out as they're already in the old banks. By keeping them up there they are easy to find for users, and we think they are among the best patches ever made for Zebra. We might put them in a subfolder in the future, if we add even more new presets with subsequent updates.

However, in future we might also just offer them as separate download. So you can run the installer with the "no presets" option and still get them.

Cheers,

;) Urs

I think there is a real problem with the 2.5.1 release!

How am I supposed to rate the new sounds with only one star?
I would need at least 20 stars to at least get to any kind of differentiation!
50 would be much better :-)

Howard, you are too good to be true!

I listened to some of the new sounds and realized that basically all of them became immediate favourites.

Thank you so much, you've outdone yourself once again!

Any updates re: the installer and file paths ?

Post

I just upgraded to 2.5.1 but am not sure where the new patches were placed. Are they in a separate folder?

Never mind, I had to re-open it. Duh!
