It didn't show under the vst plugins and going back to 2.5.0 didn't bring it back either.
I don't use any external bit bridges but only the internal one used within Cubase.
Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Eitan
Seems as though we have the same problem, see my post on 13/7 9:16. Someone else had problems in Cubase 5.5, but for me it works fine in Cubase 5.5 on Mac, and as I said before, works fine in 32-bit version of Cubase 6.02, but not in 64-bit version. I do hope you can find the cause since I am moving to a 64-bit enviroment.

Best regards Martin Flodin

Pity that this wasn't caught earlier :-|

The major change from Zebra 2.5.0 to 2.5.1 on Windows is the move to VST 2.4 from VST 2.3. We have seen a lot of Cubase weirdness, e.g. if the dlls for 32 bit and 64 bit were in the same folder then Cubase 64 would either see only 32 bit or refuse to load any.

We have a problem with Cubase on Mac too. VST Mac is of course still 32 bit, and whatever bridge is used in Cubase 64 bit on Mac does not seem to find it. According to one user's Console output there might be that dead Entrypoint we had in older betas, but neither in 2.5.0 nor in the current build.

I will do some extensive testing today and hope to fix it. If anyone is up for trying new builds, please send an email with "Cubase Tester" to urs * u-he * com - that way I can notify you directly when I post new builds.

Installing Cubase 6 on Mac... curious if we can reproduce any problem there...

I did find a problem that may prevent presets from being saved on MacOS X. We also improved the installer on Windows and we'll test with Cubase 6 there as well.

With some luck we have a hotfix tonight.

Any chance of publishing a "PreInstalled" version as an alternative to the installer version ?

Soon!

We'll provide it on request for a while, and there might be a proper installer for Receptor soon.

Re Cubase 6 on Mac, I have no problems running Zebra in both 32 and 64 bit. However, it's not in the initial pull-down list. That list is ordered alphabetically, Zebra is on the far back, and thus sorted into "additional instruments" (or so)

Also no problems running it in the bridge. On Mac we even get pop-up menus :)

So hmmmm...

We might need to put Zebra in a "u-he" folder within the standard VST directory on Mac.

You can make your own pre-installed distro today. Make a directory on your desktop named "Zebra 2.5.1" and then select it in the installer for all files (32-bit, 64-bit, install data to the default directory). After that you can zip it up and use it anywhere.

It's how I install Zebra.

I realize that, but I still prefer just to download a simple ZIP/RAR file

Just a heads-up...
Getting the following error in Reaper 4.0 beta 9 and the latest beta 14
Image

This pops up when the plugins are being scanned in Reaper for all four DLLs: Zebra2, Zebralette, Zebrify, and ZRev

Windows XP SP3, 32-bit

Installed Zebra/Zebralette and data (in its subfolder) to...
C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins\U-He\Zebra

TyrellN6, installed to a similar path, works fine.

When browsing plug-ins in Reaper afterward, it acts as if the plug-in doesn't exist (it won't show up). Basic rescan (F5 in the plugin browsing window) doesn't pull it up, but Clear Cache and Rescan (from Reaper's Preferences) will pop the error up again while scanning.

The prior 2.5.0 demo worked fine in Reaper 4.0 beta 9 and all prior versions of Reaper I've used. I don't have a license -- just been trying Zebra out in demo mode 'til I can afford it -- stoked to have Zebralette free (assuming it eventually works for me) and Zebra is already high on my very short buy-it list! :P

Hope it's something dumb I'm doing! :) But if not, hope this helps you figure it out!

Hi godprobe,

What if you relocate Zebra2.data into your Documents folder, as described in the last chapter of the install&update manual?

Usually crashes are related to file permission issues, ever since Vista (and maybe SPxx of XP...?)

Cheers,

Urs

I tried updating to 2.5.1 on XP 32 bit SONAR 8.5, following the install instructions carefully. Zebra 2.5.1 comes up in demo mode without any of my previous presets. I used the "copy data & migrate to new directory" option in the install. Urs, will you be updating the installer? Thanks. -Perry-

Why when turning the tune knobs now, not produce 0 values?
Like a tune of 12.00 is wanted, but all I can get is 11.98 or such.
I double clicked on the knob but it doesn't work.
No midi learn on either.
