Amazing!!!
Will be trying this over the weekend...
Hopefully it will allow me to sell my MPD18 to free up more desk space.

That's great news! It looks really good. Can't wait to try it out. PM sentcommanderk wrote:Finally, it's been released on the App Store:

Also, another video, this time learning Midi commands with HALion Sonic:
If anyone is interested and willing to give a review on the App store, I'd help you out with a promo code. Just drop me a PM

Have fun trying it out! Like it was with the free version, any input from you is welcome. You can help making MidiPads even better than it is

Played around with Midi Pads a little now, really really like it. It's very intuitive and well thought out, and great-looking, good job! I have a few thoughts and requests though:commanderk wrote:Have fun trying it out! Like it was with the free version, any input from you is welcome. 1. The most crucial missing feature for me is the option to save as a template.(Or i couldn't find it at least.) This is a must-have if you intend to use it for more than one vst or situation. There should be a load and save button somewhere, I think. Also the ability to create templates and share them would really increase the attraction of this app, especially if you had a forum on your website and/or an archive with templates for different vsts and functions. This could be a nice in-app feature for example, a 'download more templates' option in the menu.
2. Would be nice to be able to edit the size of the pads too (and delete) in edit mode, so you could build your custom setup with say, four larger pads for sounds where you need to control velocity more precisely and smaller ones for other sounds.
3. More elements than sliders and x/y pads would be nice. Just on/of buttons for a start would be useful. Also horizontal sliders.
4. In edit mode, some kind of copy/paste function would be good, if you for example created an x/y pad and want to have four of them the exact same size, maybe touch-hold and then drag could make a copy of the element you touch.
5. Maybe an option in the global settings menu for choosing ascending or descending midi notes as default.
6. A 'reset to original settings' button somewhere, if you've totally messed up your template..
7. Maybe a lock button that only locks orientation but not the ability to scroll banks. Of course you can do this with some clicks on the home button, but it would be handy to have in-app.
8. A really cool feature would be to have 'bouncing ball' x/y pads, like on the AKAI synthstation app, so you could automate different x/y pads with different speeds. This would be so much fun.
Sorry if some of this is already there, have only really skimmed the manual yet.
Great app though. Will be used a lot here!

Hello Olja,
thanks... was quite a lot of hard work here
.
You're mostly touching points I want to improve anyway. Yes, presets are crucial also IMO. This will be one of the new features in the next release. Also buttons will be more widespread and configurable. You see what I can do in the bottom part. Expect it to be more useful in the future.
6. : Umm, yes, that's already there internally, maybe I should make it an option
8. : What do you mean? Do you mean the snapping feature or the fade feature? I guess it's one of them... snapping lets the control snap back to your defined points and fading fades to your tapped point. You can also influence the fade/snap time and set it up to one second.
So thanks for your input, write if you have any new impressions

8: No I mean if you touch and hold the 'ball' in the x/y pad, drag it and then release it, it will continue the motion and start bouncing on 'the walls' in the direction and speed you dragged it. It's a very cool feature in Synthstation, try it, it's cheap!
To be able to do this with multiple x/y pads, controlling different parameters of your choice, would be.. brilliant! I don't know how advanced it would be to code, but it would be a killer feature no doubt.
edit: you can see it in this video at 0:53

Ahh, thx... this looks like one of the screensavers I made like 17 years ago ^^. Think I can implement that... one of my problems I have to solve until then: Keep the settings clean while still offering enough parameters...

Stefan I just bought MidiPads and it is excellent. I wish you would introduce another app and maybe call it MidiKeys. Something with keys like ExpressionPad but works the Midi Mobilizer or Uno with the camera connection kit. Thanks.

Hey, thanks very much
. I'm already planning another version of MidiPads, but can't tell you much about it right now. I'll keep you all up to date over the forum!

Hello everybody,
is anyone interested in testing the next version of MidiPads? You could be the first one to work with presets and some nifty new features!
Greetings,
Stefan
