I get crash with delays if>1000ms, but no bug if i'm in synchro mode (i've to play a sound to crash).Another thing, on my midi keyboard, when i play a G6, no sound -just a very small sound, but sometime i get a normal note- (no problem with pattern editor), and its not my key, if i transpose, it happens on the same note with another key.
Anyway, this (these) synth(s) is (are)awesome, an unique sound, very different of all synths we can see, perfectly modular, with great liberty for the user, really impressive.
I will post a first 32 sounds bank this evening, in fact i want to do a 128 presets bank, but all is not clear for me in this synth, i've just begin to understand the FM part, i'll try to rebuild a sort of dx7 (but more funny).
10 more presets

I've uploaded a new beta build with a "possible" bugfix for the crash-if-delay>1000ms bug. Can you test it?tinga wrote:I get crash with delays if>1000ms, but no bug if i'm in synchro mode (i've to play a sound to crash).Another thing, on my midi keyboard, when i play a G6, no sound -just a very small sound, but sometime i get a normal note- (no problem with pattern editor), and its not my key, if i transpose, it happens on the same note with another key.
And for the another problem I would need a bit more informations, for example, which note-range Buzz has, and how Buzz do map these to the MIDI-note-range etc.
BR808 is only semi-modular, not true modular.Anyway, this (these) synth(s) is (are)awesome, an unique sound, very different of all synths we can see, perfectly modular, with great liberty for the user, really impressive.

Uploaded a new beta build again, with a workaround for buggy hosts, which sends sometimes MIDI events with deltaframeoffsets, which are out-of-bound of the next current ProcessReplacing-from-host-call samples count size. BR808 subtracts now the deltaframeoffsets with the current ProcessReplacing-from-host-call sample count (for the next ProcessReplacing call from the host), and frees only the MIDI events, which are processed&played already. It seems to work now in these VST(i) host with this or similiar bug (if this kind of a bug is a bug, or just a misinterpretion of the VSTi spec?).

Uploaded a new beta build again, with a new locking system. It's now a mixture of two-way-locking (two priority locks, a low-priority lock for no-so-critical data changes with more than aligned 4 bytes at once or unaligned data, and a high-priority lock for really-critical-datachanges for example at sample data reallocations, freedrawn envelope node memory reallocations and so on, where only the high-priority lock blocks also the audio rendering stuff, the low-priority lock only the UI and preset/bank loader/saver stuff), multi-reader-single-writer-locking (for example for multi-instance MIDI event recording) and atomic lock-free stuff (for really-non-critical-data-changes and for the audio status UI updater sruff) in different code areas instead of one big lock.
But it's so far untested and very experimental, so if you find any bugs due to this new locking system, please report me these instantly.
I hope it helps against the buffer dropouts with cricklers/clicks/pops on UI parameter changes at users with hard realtime audio setups.
I can restore the old so-far-stable-tested locking-system at every time. I must just change a preprocessor define and recompile the whole stuff for a rollback to the old locking-system.

Cool, works fine now.BeRo wrote:I've uploaded a new beta build with a "possible" bugfix for the crash-if-delay>1000ms bug. Can you test it?
Can't leave this machine, now i've a better control, and it's really great stuff, Buzz is a modular system, BR808 is also based on a modular thing, the amazing modulation matrix, we have perfect control of the architecture.
Sample change isn't in the target of the modulation or did i miss something? i've try to change the color param by the modulation matrix (sample change if osc=sample)and nothing happen.
Also great the new script option, i'm not coder, but i can change params
Many thanks for so quick updates, (the delay's bug was a little bit painful), hum! i return to my sound bank, great pleasure to works with BeRo's BR808, a clear gui, no stupid knobs,no commercial colors, just adapt 808's colour to your host, just one window (and 200 pages
I will transmit your questions about midi on the buzzchurh.

I've uploaded a new beta build, which I've optimized the sampleplayer osc waveform routine for some special cases and I've reworked the oversampling stuff and fixed some bugs.

You must set the color value to full-right (127) or so, because the modulation will be apply as "frac-multplication-value" to this then. If this doesn't work, then you've found a anther bug in BR808tinga wrote: Sample change isn't in the target of the modulation or did i miss something? i've try to change the color param by the modulation matrix (sample change if osc=sample)and nothing happen.

Sorry, haven't read through the entire thread so I don't know if this has been covered but, the Moog filter goes nuts when I raise the cutoff past a certain point. The sound goes incredidbly loud and then goes silent. After a moment if I turn down the cutoff, the sound returns. The resonance is turned down so it shouldn't be the filter feeding back on itself or whatever.
The feedback/noise outburst, or whatever, happens when the cutoff slider gets to about two thirds of the way open more or less (freq around 3,000-5,000?).
Further info if it matters: using Reaper v3.7n(?), Windows XP (32 bit), AMD Athlon dual core, 2 GB ram.

Samples seems to be retrigged, i can change it with modulation wheel or a lfo but sounds like granular synthesisbero wrote:You must set the color value to full-right (127) or so, because the modulation will be apply as "frac-multplication-value" to this then. I think i've more than 40 presets but i've to verify them, many errors in the first bank i've posted.
7 presets.
#1 to show an hybrid thing
#2 a example of mapped keyboard, a scale on black keys, another one on white keys (scalla presets)
also a dx7 (i'm not sure about osc connections, how to reproduce dx7 algos )
etc...

I've uploaded a new beta build, which should fixed this with the sample index color modulation now. I hope that it's fixed really now.tinga wrote:Samples seems to be retrigged, i can change it with modulation wheel or a lfo but sounds like granular synthesis, maybe i'm doing something wrong, ive also some crash with filter saturation, or feedback on pluck synth
, we have to keep cool with this param.

Edit:
I've uploaded again a new beta build, which contains a important bugfix fo a random-trigger-access-violation-bug in the UI init routine.

With pad synth #harmonics limit is 256, i've try 1024 (i didn't know the limit) and it can causes bug. PadSynth is great tool, very useful.
Some extreme values with multiples transpositions crash the sound for a time when we play some very bass notes.Pad synth is great tool, very useful.
I understand you don't want to make an help file, but if you can add some info box about a few params,(there are some).
Is there a way to load several samples at the same time (probably not shift doesn't work in windows explo).
Exciting machine.

Thanks, less than 5 seconds for loading 128 samples and to map them on the 128 notes, very good loader!bero wrote:I've uploaded a new beta build, which contains your wished feature: A extra "Multi load" button

Well I have tried the various betas and I get the same result. I load BR808 and there is an initial sound. I then load/import the bank and no sound! Actually I tried a bank by "tinga" I believe and get sound (an ambient patch with some chirpy birds in the background) and change patch but nothing changes--I mean sliders move but the sound is the same patch.I use win xp64. Host have been Cubase 6/Phrazor/VSTHost. Any ideas?? Cheers!

I've uploaded a new beta build, which contains also a standalone self-hosting EXE version now (based on my another private project called BeRoVSTiHost, a VSTi-DLL-to-Standalone-EXE-compiler), for quick testing and so on.
