MFM 2.1 VST GUI issues on OSX

Hey Urs,
Just a quick headsup... have tried the new MFM VST release in both Ableton Live 8.2.2 and Studio One 1.6.4 (both 32bit versions) and the GUI open with a white strip at the bottom of the GUI.
Additionally when changing to a different size GUI, closing and reopening the size of the container remains at its default size, either cutting off 3/4 of the super-large size or gaining 3/4 white space around the tiny one (not that I'd use that size in reality but just to let you know!).
The AU version works fine (in both Ableton 32 and 32 & 64 bit versions of S1).
I also managed to get some sort of low-level 'background hum' from the VST of Ace in S1 (32) but haven't been able to reproduce.

Hmmm... will have a look. I *did* eliminate a white strip for lazy hosts, but what do you know...

Sorry, never changed the GUI size in Ace before... found the bottom right click thing and yes, Ace does the same thing.Urs wrote:but Ace gui does fine?
Was also downloading Zebra to see if we had the same issue. EDIT: It does.
White strip appears only on MFM btw.
( As a side note Urs, how does one delete an original registration of Zebra in OSX? I sold my copy a while back and was interested to see the new modes in 2.5.1... downloaded the demo and it's still registered to me ).

(actually, what these hosts do is, they request he gui size *before* opening it. Which is blatantly stupid, because any skinnable, generic, adaptive, script based gui can not possibly know that kind of information up front. Thus most hosts open the gui and then resize the window to fit... so I think... what I will do... is open the gui myself first and create all the content... and then report the size back and... all the benefits of them being sloppy (faster host starting time) is gone - but my gui would open even faster :-p )

Been having quite a few GUI issues with Studio One along those lines. Thanks for sharing.

Sorry Urs... one last question... why does it only happen with the VST versions and not the AU?Urs wrote:(actually, what these hosts do is, they request he gui size *before* opening it. With the AU version they do get the size of the Window afterwards. It's part of the specs I guess.taoyoyo wrote:Sorry Urs... one last question... why does it only happen with the VST versions and not the AU?Urs wrote:(actually, what these hosts do is, they request he gui size *before* opening it. Funnily on VST Windows this never happens. Only selected VST hosts on Mac.
