hi,

i may be being a little slow here but how do you automate effects plugins? i have automation set up ok with my source plugin, kontakt (using its own midi learn feature) but none of the effect plugins on the same channel seem to receive any midi for automation at all. also is there a way of choosing your own control change numbers in the receptor midi learn feature? to me it seems to only let you use the cc number it choses itself '(not that that effect plugin is receiving midi). in fact, how do you use the receptor midi learn feature at all, i cant seem to work it out from the manual.

thanks (again)..... p.

Is there anyway (or plug in) that we can do automation within Receptor ? (no computer)

Prizzle, on Receptor, only the FIRST plugin in the channel will receive MIDI. So, if you have a Source, then an effect, only the Source will receive MIDI.

A workaround is to use another Receptor channel. Example: say you have Kontakt and a reverb effect. Load Kontakt as Source in Receptor channel 1. Set Receptor channel 2 Source to the output of Kontakt. Load the reverb as FX1 of Receptor channel 2. Now, Kontakt is "first" in channel 1, and the reverb is "first" in channel 2. You can set the MIDI listen channel to "1" for both Receptor channels, and turn down the volume of Receptor channel 1 so you only hear Kontakt through the channel 2 reverb. Both plugins will respond to keys and control changes on MIDI channel one, but program changes will match the Receptor channels: PCs on MIDI channel 1 will go to Kontakt, and PCs on MIDI channel 2 will go to the reverb.
