and search won't find them ;-)

We'll improve preset tagging, but not this year anymore.

No, it will find by keywords (tight, deep, sharp, pluck, etc.)! It works in SampleTank2 for example. I think it will be better than nothing
Anyway thank you Urs for your attention

OK, since my Zebra suggestions txt file is getting old (and refined) I'll post it here: :)
I'll highlight what I think are the most important ones.
----------------------------------------

General:
- Right-click on the presets page, "explore presets folder".
- Higher polyphony than 16 voices please.
- The ability to use several voice modes at once (exemple: poly + arp)
- Hermode Tuning ( http://www.hermode.com/html/products-practice_en.html )

Filters:
- New BP(RezBand) + BR(Notch) mode.

Oscilator:

-Osc FX swap button.
-One extra Osc FX slot per Oscillator.

-Upgraded Oscillator waveform editing, also new look and zoom ("+" as in the ModMaper).
-Osc waveform interpolation option for geo blend.
-Upgraded "Key -> Gain" panel moved in a separate "Keyboard" tab and with extra selectable targets. (+ Keyscale as a modulation source.)
-When clicking on an osc module (FMO incl.), the module should be selected in the lower pane below.

Modmatrix:
-Bypass switch
-Rearranging
-Double target (with bipolar offset knob)

Modules:
- Sync Module (with sidechain)
- Copy/Paste function with the same type of modules.

Modulators:
- Envelope Fall/Rise curve slider or switch.
- Alternate and Random (found in Tyrell) as a modulation sources. (quick and easy, saving the modmapper for something else) .. and/or more ModMappers

Search in Z2 browser is a good one. But I also wish for this...

Oh, one more thing. Mousewheel over modulation sources knobs. That could really be handy...

"Dwarf shortage" was one attempt by the British comedian Jimmy Carr to write a joke with the fewest words possible.

The more I hang around at KVR the less music I make.

I suggested this recently, highlighting NI's Massive as an example of how to do tagging. I can't fathom why having shedloads of presets and then being able to choose from the, say, 20 that are tagged with dark, metallic, plucked etc is a *bad* thing.
But apparently it is and NI/Spectrasonics/REFX/IK Multimedia have it all wrong.

As I said, we'll improve it. But not this year.

Again, my studio partner wanted to show me a preset in Omnisphere and he simply couldn't find it. At all. Gave up after 10 minutes of trying every method of finding things. Complete fail IMHO.

Similarly, we've tried some full text searches on some Zebra presets and we couldn't find the ones we were looking for either. Same problem. If the information (e.g. "pad", "sawtooth") is entered for too many presets, non are found. Or even worse, if you look for "brass" and don't get "Vangelis CS80", then what? - Nothing. Thus, full text search only works if *every* preset's description is entered by everybody.

Tagging with keywords is faster, but still a lot of work. It might get you somewhere.

Colour coded tagging is as fast, but can also be displayed in the normal browser view, whereas tagging with meta information can not. Thus this will be the preferred way to look at it.

Sounds to me like the perfect problem to be solved by crowdsourcing u-he users with a web-based preset database integrated into Zebra3. ;)

I've read Urs's post about the search option and I have an idea for the optimal solution of it.

I did a simple mockup. It is a simple tag system (web based) where any user can categorize every preset by clicking on the standard buttons, or enter his own tags by comma.

Instead this:

I suggest this one:

It is not perfect but at least it shows how it may work. And it will work! :)

Here's another FR: I'm finding the arpeggiator a very useful tool for creating movement in a patch. Initially it would be most useful to attach or detach the arpeggiator from the envelopes so that they can either follow the arpeggiator or follow the key on/off. On the longer term (given enough processing!), it would cool to have a polyphonic arpeggiator so that each note creates it's own copy of the arpeggiation pattern. Thanks.
