Hello All,

are there any good Zebra2 skins for the new version? The older skins are missing knobs and newer stuff :(.

I tried my best to recolor the default a bit, but i would really prefer some high quality skins if there are any? Maybe some of you are good at this? ^^

Yeah I'd like to have Transmission skin for the latest version... :(

I do really like Howard's ACEsque mockup...

I really like it too. But I think the knobs should be different. I don't think that we'll see new skins for Zebra in the near future to be honest.

Actually, I identified skin design as the new problem area in my stuff. Mind you, I do have a phantastic gui editor (wysiwyg) and I can do a complete gui in considerably short time. The ui of TyrellN6 took less than two days, and most of it was spent in the 3D application.

That's also the point: My gui design tool is fast. But then I spend hours over hours in either Photoshop or Cinema 4D.

The idea of redesigning Zebra is *frightening* - using 3D software looks way better than Photoshop alone, but the idea of designing all those module panels from scratch in Cinema is, uhm, hard to comprehend. These tools were not made for skin design. Simple as that.

Thus I'm moving much of the stuff I use Photoshop and Cinema for right into my own gui editor. Think of it as my inhouse skinman (see developer forum). So I'm actually using the existing layout tools to draw into bitmaps and perform Photoshop-like filters and effects. I won't do 3D directly though, knobs will still happen in Cinema.

So while Clemens works on delayless feedback filters, I'm having a ball writing compositing effects. If and when the results will show... I don't know yet. But something like Howie's design won't be ruled out anymore :)

Cheers,

Urs

This is a bit not true. I think Photoshop is all you need (for example I do not using any other external tools or any addons) :)
And I could do it, if it needs so much. But I need to think

Hehehe, of course it's possible to do things in Photoshop - it's just not as comfortable as my solution ;)

I think that both the regular skin and the darkhorse are fine.
The only thing I would improve are the fonts, especially on the darkhorse one (regular GUI size) and that (windows?) GUI display bug at the bottom of the module window when you change presets (when the scrollbar is needed).
Otherwise, Zebra looks as good as it sounds to me. Very clear and user-friendly interface.

Only two days? The TyrellN6 ui looks very good!
