After using the final 2008 Mac version for a couple of years I decided to give the beta a go as I like the new sound-back Lennard did, some new sound-banks must have the beta installed to work and because it has a number of bug fixes.

Unfortunately on my system the beta makes everything get unresponsive, the GUI takes a while to respond to movements, as dosed the DAW itself.

Anyone else experience this? Any ideas?

Any help or suggestions appreciated, especially from the developer of the synth that I paid for.

(OS X 10.6.8, Live 8.2)

[I've written to Lennard twice about this with no reply; either he's on holiday or playing the silent game with me)

Yes i have seen the same thing in Logic Pro on my macbook so i went back to using the release version

So that's 2 Mac users on different DAWs having the same issue.

Anyone else (including Mr Addink) got any input on this?

I am on iMac OS X 10.6.8, Live 8.22
I have no problems with the Sylenth 2.211

^ Cheers. Another user with the same specs as you/me on Ableton's forum also didn't have issues.

So far then, on OS X, 2 positive and 2 negative experiences with the beta, on different DAWs.

Keep your input coming ladies and gents (and not just OS X users, particularly if you are having issues).

running the beta with logic 9.1.5 (OS 10.7.1), and no problems on my (late-2008) 13" macbook.

so far, anyway...

Hmmm.....So what on earth is wrong with it on some systems...?

Anyone els got good/bad news with the beta or any idea what I could try to sort it out on my system?

you could try to update live to 8.2.5

i'm going to be working a lot end of this week, and will report back (i've only spent a little time with the beta).

@c-d - Yeah, I'll upgrade to Live 8.2.5 soon, reinstall the beta and have a play.

ah, well....sad to say, been working today in logic (9.1.5 on lion 10.7.1), and YES, sylenth IS sluggish, especially when scrolling thru presets...

a little finicky getting back to the pre-beta. lost a few settings in the current song file, but...think i'm ok.

the beta is definitely cranky with Lion...

so...the beta is cranky in Lion, and...going back to 2.20 is a bit of a problem...the work i did in 2.21 PLAYS ok, but if i OPEN sylenth1, i see a generic factory preset; i can't find my chosen sound (unless i remember what it was...HA.).

so...be warned...

2.20 seems fine with Lion, am sticking with that (until we see a 'Lion-compat' version....)
