Thanks, being a guitar player myself, I have to say I like this analogy!GaryG wrote:I guess it's a little like that old acoustic you keep around that you can just grab and play without thinking about what effects chain your going to be using or whatever. And it sounds fine too. Damn fine in fact.

I recommend you to make a Mediafire account, you can track the number of downloads.zorniko wrote:Today I tested it a little more, and in the process I made 32 - well lets say - classic patches (vstpreset format). As I want to give these, where should I upload (or send) them?
I'm not sure I understand all of your suggestions correctly, but I have to make clear that Charlatan's preset management is handled entirely by the host application. It seems that at least some of your suggestions might not be doable without implementing a fully custom preset management which requires lots of work. Since I'm personally ok with the current state this would have a rather low priority on my TODO list ... this is not to say it will never happen of course!mztk wrote: can the preset banks be included on load? not a big deal, but most are useful
standard patches. would be good to have a little split menu offering them as
separate banks. (this would make saving edited banks a lot slicker, because
they'd already be split into categoriesyou'll prob' get a lot(?..) more user banks
uploaded this way), and it's a minor drag to have to load a bank when you start
the plugin. alternatively, you might choose to see this as an advantage, to
avoid hearing the same sound each time you load...
I will look into this. Not sure if I it will be fixed in 1.0.mztk wrote: from me, the same quibble as before regarding parameters not showing up
in key edit page (Orion 7.6). seem to automate fine though. with a workhorse
synth like this, it is an essential feature to be able to draw in and edit parameter
curves.
Well, the hole idea of Charlatan to keep it simple and limit features to the bare essentials. If you want "more of everything" I think there are already TONS of plugins out there ... Simplicity and easy tweakability is a, or maybe THE feature of Charlatan.mztk wrote: hopefully what you've put together here will serve as the basis for future
synths, with more of everything!!
