Hello, i want to know if i will be able to open my PC projects (Pro Tools 9 via VST to RTAS wrapper) with Ubhik(if i get them) to my mac?
I could not do this with Zebra 2 and this sucks ofcourse, pardon my french.
The situation is that i have 1 working machine at home where i do almost all my work, and then i transfer the things that are worth keeping to my studiocomputer, a Mac Pro and continue working on them with my friend there.
Im really into buying your stuff Urs and i want to get the plugins but im not sure as of now if it doesnt work.
Cheers!

wouldnt this be more dependent on how ProTools and the wrapper behave across the two platforms?critza wrote:Hello, i want to know if i will be able to open my PC projects (Pro Tools 9 via VST to RTAS wrapper) with Ubhik(if i get them) to my mac?

There are RTAS native versions of the u-he plug-ins on Mac, so I suspect the problem is the absence of the wrapper on one. However, isn't it possible to save the settings as presets from inside the plug-in and then load them in the project on the other platform? It's a bit more effort but the .h2p presets are (or should be) cross-platform.whyterabbyt wrote: wouldnt this be more dependent on how ProTools and the wrapper behave across the two platforms?

GammaUT: I dont know, but Urs has asked Angus at FXpansion and he says that it shouldnt be a problem, however when i use the VST version on mac wrapped to RTAS it does not recognize the plugin that came from the PC project.
whyterabbyt: Yes you could save the settings and put them in the settingsfolder on the mac but when you have a whole project with alot of automation of the plugins this is very unefficient and time killing. It would take me an hour to transfer a big project from my PC to my Mac and this is why i am looking for a solution that is easier.

Well, as of now, our stuff simply does not work on ProTools PC.
When I asked Angus it was in respect of the non-responsive gui ever since VST 2.4. The wrapper only works properly for the older VST 2.3 versions.
It is to be expected that plugins wrapped with his tools will not be recognised as native plugins when swapped against these - The FXpansion wrapper has no knowledge about u-he's manufacturer ID registered with Avid, so it can't pose as native u-he RTAS plugin. I have no idea if wrapped plugins work crossplatform (wrapped on PC and wrapped on Mac), this has to be discussed with FXpansion.
As these issues will persist for quite a bit longer, I sadly have to recommend not to use my stuff if Pro Tools on Windows is involved. We will eventually deal with RTAS Win, but I can't give an estimate.
