I just checked on Windows, it's there with FSVA 1.3 64-bit, Win 7 64-bit, Reaper 4.0.1 64-bit.

It's either a mac bug or there might be old data files around. Maybe try a full uninstall and re-install of the plug?

eek... might be a mac bug... will check tomorrow

Thanks! Actually I didn't suspect a bug -- just user error -- when I initialized a new patch later, after posting (and possibly selecting a new 'instance' in Logic) Arpeggiator Mode was there again... but I didn't think this was the first time it happened -- sometimes when I'm tweaking sounds I see that it is no longer available... is there something that could make the Arpeggiator option disappear from the modes menu when programming a new sound?

Old Data files? -- not sure I know what that means, but I suspect I MAY have some sorting to do with the DIFFERENT KINDS of u-he support files =- e.g. presets in the same folder with different extensions ".aupreset" and ".h2p"

If it's a mac bug I wonder if it's AU-only? I'm curious because with the new versions out I finally downloaded the Filterscape demo again to see if it was a bit more stable than I remembered. It seems it isn't, for me anyway. Not crashy unstable, rather its behaviour is erratic. Then I realised I was just trying the AU version so on a hunch I tried the VST version; it was much better.

So, the specific problems I had with the AU was that in Bidule a large number of the presets just fail to load. You see the name flash up, then get replaced by whatever was previously loaded. In Numerology (which only uses AUs), the presets seemed to load, but half the time the note offs would be ignored, which can be kind of fun but I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be that way. Trying the VST of FilterscapeVA in Bidule seemed more reliable.

This might be a completely different issue, but I thought I'd mention it because it may give a hint to the cause of the OP's problem too.

Hmmm... that certainly shouldn't be the case. I had to fix a lot of stuff to maintain compatibility, but even forgetting preset names wasn't the case here at all.

Also, the platform layers for VST and AU have become very thin. If the AU has a problem, then it's most likely a glitch in the Cocoa layer. Hmmm.

That would make sense. Obviously I'm just speculating about possible causes and you know your code and frameworks. But I just figured that Filterscape was an older code-base; the original demo I tried didn't have the h2p presets for example (and seeing the arrival of h2p presets is kind of made me hope the problem had gone away). Admittedly Bidule is one of the more unusual hosts out there so if there's a subtle interaction problem not so many people might notice it to report it. But the general glitchiness (for me, I'm not saying it's widespread) has probably stopped me tipping over the impulse purchase line. That and the fact that I have so many other U-he products that I don't give them all enough attention ;-). It's mainly Zebra that I relate to the most.

A Cocoa layer bug / glitch may explain the OP's symptom (he says, speculating again about code he hasn't seen; that's the problem with being a software developer by day job, it makes me think about what may be causing problems rather than just concentrating on writing up a good bug report accurately describing symptoms).

Well yes... i haven't been using VSTs in a looooong time... -- and i am still seeing some funny behaviour in the AU version, you reminded me of it here! What happens sometimes is you can select patches within the plug-in interface but not thru Logic's standard pulldown

i'm on latest versions of u-he ... plus OS 10.6.8... oh and here's something weird!- my laptop logic says LOGIC 9.0.2 - will have to check my main machine in the studio... I just found out for some reason Apple's installer left LOGIC 9.0.2 on the mac so it was booting up instead - and LOGIC 9.1 wasn't loading ... However with LOGIC 9.1 everything in Filterscape AU appears to be working just as it should... :D

Hey u-he team... sorry (don't shoot the piano player!) -- but I spoke too soon -- I've been running Filterscape in the latest logic pro 9.1.5 as host and those problems of presets not updating and intermittent inactive modules like arpeggiator are still persisting quite regularly :(
