Hey,

today I install new impOSCar2 on my Receptor 1 rev.C. I doesn't have to much time for testing but it looks like everything is working fine only GUI is little bit slow...so here is my how-to:

I was trying to install that via ssh by the normal way (wine 'impOSCar2_PC.exe')
but I was not able to push "next" button on second screen of installer:-(

So first of all install impOSCar2 (VST not standalone) on your computer (I use wine on Linux).Then connect to receptor via SSH (you need the root access for do that):

ssh root@192.168.2.xxx (ip of your receptor if you are connected via router)
or
ssh root@Receptor-1.Local (if you are directly connected to receptor and using avahi daemon)
password

Then copy files from ~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/GForce on your computer to the same place on receptor (for example in midnight commander;-)
Then copy VST plugin from your VST folder to "Program Files/VST Plugins/Unsupported Plugins/impOSCar2" on receptor.
On your computer run regedit.exe and export imposcar2.reg containing:

REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\GForce]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\GForce\impOSCar2]
"ApplicationDir"="C:\\Program Files\\GForce\\impOSCar2"
"DocumentationDir"="C:\\Program Files\\GForce\\impOSCar2\\Documentation"
"FxpDir"="C:\\Program Files\\GForce\\impOSCar2\\Patches"
"VstDir"="C:\\Program Files\\VST Plugins\\Unsupported Plugins\\impOSCar2"

Copy file imposcar2.reg to receptor. Connect to receptor via VNC with GtkVNCViewer or Krdc for example:

vnc://192.168.2.xxx:5901
or
vnc://Receptor-1.Local:5901
password

On setup screen then install plugin like unsupported one. In receptor click on "setup" and "run utility" button and choose "run regedit" and import your imposcar2.reg and restart X... and impOSCar2 is working with all presets...

Hi Balda,

Thanks for the instructions. Setting those registry entries works on the Receptor 2 as well.

Did you need to set a registry entry (or do something else) for the User Name and Registration ID? It looks like you can set this from the "about Imposcar" screen (and it works after you re-launch the plugin), but if you re-boot Receptor - it asks for the registration again.

Thanks,
Kevin L

Probably yes, but I cannot try it because I don't have my ID yet ;-)

How do you guys insert screen-shot images in your posts here?

...thank you for the detailed instructions!...

...please, where would i copy this file to?...

...being on a Mac i had to copy&paste your reg-entries into a text-file with extension '.reg' and put that into different places on the Receptor - however, i never get another option than to 'Refresh Plugins'...there is no option to 'run regedit'...

...so my thinking is that this option might become available as soon as i have placed the '.reg'-file in the right place...

...TIA...

...ok...managed to get the RegEdit work, nevertheless none of the patches show up - the patch-browser-windows are empty...

For what it's worth, sometimes when you can't click on a button in an installer on the Receptor, you can get it to trigger by tabbing to it and pressing enter...in case you hadn't tied that.
