ACE - self-feedback like Spark?

Is there any way I can get Ace to feedback on itself like Reaktor Spark? Bit of a noob to ACE but I love Spark's self-oscillating madness, would love to get Ace doing something similar.

hi,
yes, ACE can do that.
it has the 'crosstalk' knob on the 'tweak' page. crosstalk is feedback afaik.
you can also route a filter back into itself. you do this by routing the filter's output into the 'lfo 2' socket, and adjust the knob above it to taste. also, don't forget to use the filter's 'gain' knob together with this. it can radically change the sound.
try it out, it sounds awesome!

i don't know from 'reaktor spark' but ACE comes with some "TEMPLATE" presets including self-oscillating , sample and hold, pwm etc...

Thanks for the tips... I'm not really able to get any feedback going still. The self-oscillation template doesn't seem to do it - I mean, when the release is down, the sound just stops.
When the 'feedback' is turned up in Spark it will howl like a guitar slammed against the amp, its pretty amazing... would love to achieve the same effect in Ace but not having much luck so far!

The VCAs in ACE are always controlled by an ADSR or Gate, so you must trigger a note to get sound out of ACE.present wrote:Thanks for the tips... I'm not really able to get any feedback going still. That said, ACE is still a great tool for feedback. You can feed the output of an oscillator into it's own control inputs, you can do cross feedback between the filters using a mixer to control the balance. I believe you can even set the filters to pretty low frequencies and use them as LFOs when they are self-oscillating.

For audio feedback, use the auxilliary input at the bottom of the mixer.

Thanks for the thoughts ... so the ADSR is always in the way of mad loose feedback? Will try this out.

I wouldn't say "in the way", it's easy enough to hold a note "permanently"!present wrote:so the ADSR is always in the way of mad loose feedback?
