Thanks for letting me know. I've just double-checked the tar archive I gave CM, and it seems fine, so it could be an error in the DVD fabrication. The MD5 of the Linux 64-bit version (Cumulus_x86_64.tar.gz) should be 0f72152fb602e9b561d85ad0f857548b - is this what was shipped on the DVD?

1465 bytes? Yeah, that looks like a fabrication error then! I'll let Computer Music know.

Thanks for taking the time to check this.

Thanks anotherstephen. So I'll wait till the issue is fixed, as my system IS 64 bits.
You can't always get what you waaaant...

Thanks for this wonderful tool!

Can I add a +1 for the above feature requests, in particular my immediate instinct which was to set a sequence going then add another on top which was not possible i.e. poly mode. Otherwise much creative fun here.

PS I'm using a Magic Trackpad with TrackMaster software to fire the notes to fire the scenes....oh la la

another feature request:

solo scene
had great fun with this last night
can get a bit confusing editing one scene while the others are going

thanks

Solo scene and polyphonic mode: both added to request list.

Computer Music are also now aware of the 64-bit Linux archive issue. If there is a problem here, they should have this corrected for the next issue.

Of course there is something nice about Mono mode, it's more rhythmic. I can see implementing Poly mode is a big ask as there will be a need to control aspects of that mode...?

I have to say this is a serious beast........

Putting the speed to 0% on some scenes gives a classic granular sound....but there is so much more to Cumulus than that.

Great interface design.

10/10

I have been looking for a granular synth like this and then it comes free in a magazine?
Would you consider making a pro version that will be available from your website? I would gladly pay 100 bucks + for something like this.

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback, glad you all seem to be enjoying Cumulus.

There are no definites in the immediate future regarding a Pro-Cumulus, but it's certainly an idea that we're mulling over. We've the next few plug-ins pretty much set in stone, but who knows what we'll tackle after that? And by all means keep the feature requests for Cumulus coming, as well as telling us what you'd like to see in a potential 'Pro-Cumulus'.

A possible idea...

I'm loving using my keyboard with Cumulus. It would be great if there was an option to have a release function of some sort so that the length of the sound could be controlled in the keyboard mode. The ability to turn off the Decay function so the sound just runs ad infinitum is great but then an option to then tie this into the key release in some way would be the business. I like it as it is also however!

By the way-having the scenes copied to every layer when they were the same -thanks- that pointed me in the direction of the possibilities of morphing and variation.....have all 8 scenes variated slightly and its possible to get wonderful morphing.

Just remember to turn Link off!

+1

CM 170 isn't here (states) yet AFAIK, but I will def pick it up for THIS, as granular (and spectral) are my "turf" as it were. That said:

Will this be listed in KVR's instrument/effects section, as I will doubtless fire-it-up and immediately begin making *presets* with it, which I would upload if that is an option.

best.

Yes: I'll submit it to KVR's database so you'll be able to upload presets. And I've also added pinki's Note-Off / Release suggestion to the (ever swelling) features request list. Thanks all!
