I love to have it as a pitch shifter on a send with a big reverb (Uhbik-A for example) behind it
Cheers

I will have to try this...as soon as I can peel myself away from programming drums in Zebra and trying to make cabinet sims with Zebrify.
I've actually used the G as a distortion/equalizer unit for various drum channels.

I love the Uhbik..
It's the Runciter, the UHBIK D, UHBIK P, UHBIK G, UHBIK F UHBIK A UHIK S UHBIK Q.
What I like is the fact that the parameter set is reduced so that tweeking the sounds is fast and intuitive.
I don't spend enough time at the effects stage of production and it probably shows in my mixes, but with UHBIK when things work out they are excellent.

This is a very impressive fx bundle. I'm demoing it now. I don't think I'm going to spring for it at the moment but wanted to suggest a group buy
At any rate, all the best to U-He and the team. I wish you much success.

I've been checking it out this week as well and am very impressed. The frequency shifter is my favorite of the bunch so far.
If there was a 'normal' distortion unit in there I would be completely sold. It is still on my 'to buy' list for sure, but since everything is more on the creative side I think I'll be able to live without it for a little while.

Same here. Could do with a "Lock" feature on the Mix knobs too.ryandfl wrote: If there was a 'normal' distortion unit in there I would be completely sold.

The Bi-Phase sound is quite different to the UhbikP in my opinion. If you want the Bi_Phase sound (6 stage), then go for Audio Damage's Phase Two. It's my go-to, folowed by Big Rock for those LUSH phases! UhbikP is so bright and clean(?), (modern?...) I find the feedback a bit harder to tame. But U-He generally isn't too tame anyways, just gotta dig those heels inGonga wrote:I own a vintage Mu-Tron BiPhase phase shifter that I bought new around 1980. Gosh, we've been together for over 30 yearsThe freakin' thing is gargantuan and built like a tank! Anyway, it's considered by many to be one of the best ever made, and was a big part of George Duke's synth sound and Joe Zawinul's Rhodes sound in the 70's. I plan on doing a comparison between it and Uhbik-P at some point. If there's interest, I'll record samples for comparison.
If as I suspect the Uhbik-P compares favorably, I'll be selling my precious on eBay soon.
[EDIT] It sold for the full price ($495) within one or two minutes of posting...

In my opinion if you can't get Distortion out of Uhbik as it is now then you should probably find another line of work.
Runciter, is a sound crunching machine, that will scare you how much noisy distortion it can call up.
UHIK G Granular is pretty edgey
UHBIK S burns up the frequencys
a comibnation of modulation and creative chaining of several UHBIK's, like Runciter, Phaser, the tremelo and a reverb wil frigten the neighbours. And make you age berfore your time. Porbably kill your small chirpy pets, dogs will leave home..for good.. No don't chain the Uhbiks, too dangerous...

Right, that's why a basic 'tube overdrive' would be a great addition to the mix. Knob goes up, tone gets chunkier. Runciter is much more dynamic and wild than that. They are different concepts.

We're toying with the idea of adding a deluxe-version of DIVA's upcoming rotary speaker cabinet... And maybe with option to switch rotors off

Uhbik Q -> Runciter -> Uhbik Q is a great chain for all kinds of distortion and overdrive sounds. Use the first EQ for pre-emphasis. Set Runciter so the filter is all the way open, just use the drive, fuzz and color controls. Use the second EQ for shaping.
Using Uhbik Q to drive Runciter is a great way to get subtle results. I like setting the two mid bands to Flex Bell and boosting frequencies that I want to overdrive.

Love the Uhbiks. I don't think anyone mentioned that it's 64 bit right out of the box, too.
Very easy to use and experiment with. X would be nice though...
When you get around to it, of course.
Cheers
