I don't mean to drag out this overly personalised thread.. but I just had to share this with some people who would understand:

The Comb generators in Zebra are just TOO NASTY! :D (that's intended to be a compliment!)

They have so much more scope and versatility than the combs in Triple Cheese. I'm just loving this!! I've always liked the sound of comb synthesis, and Zebra is just KILLING IT as far as comb versatility and depth of sound goes! Throw a few of these bad boys in your lanes, push them through an FMO or three... and JUST TRY AND TELL ME THAT ISN'T A BRAIN POPPING LIFE CHANGING SYNTH TONE. 8)

OK.. I'll let this pointless thread die now! Thanks for reading. :)

The comb modules are one of Zebras secret weapons... They are far more than the usual comb filters in many synths and give Zebra a range of sounds few synths can come close to

Agree. All kinds of flute-ish, string-ish. sharukachi-ish sounds possible thanks to this modules. Love it too. That's why I chose Zebra over Alchemy. I mean, Alchemy is great and sounds of it are amazing, but it's sample based. Bit of messing with Zebra and you can make equally interesting sounds from nothing. From f**ing sinewave for god sake... That's just magical, can't find another word....

I really should spend a couple of hours (days?) trying to get to grips with the Zebra combs. I mean, I understand the concept of comb filters, but there are so many variables in the Zebra combs... and they're all inter-related for maximum chaos! The few times I've added a comb to a patch and turned knobs until it sounded good, it has really added to the sound... They bring something of a sense of physical space to a patch.

Is it possible to make someting like the "blown" module from Triple Cheese in Zebra? I love how that can do overblown sounds. I made one pad in TC where the overtone is a slightly different harmonic each time. When you play chords with it you get a fascinating shifting harmonization with it. The slight unstable-ness brings a lot of charm and usefulness.

Yes.
It's one of the many modes there.
Pg38 of the manual
Blown: This mode uses a bandpass filter in the feedback path to accentuate harmonics
(modulate the Flavour parameter) rather than the fundamental. You can get very realis-
tic flutes and trumpets etc. but it does require careful tuning.
