That's a great tip...and now in one of my effects racks in Live. I had a go at doing some quasi-Pultec tricks as well (wide/flex bell boost; narrow bell cut etc) which worked quite nicely in places.justin3am wrote:Uhbik Q -> Runciter -> Uhbik Q is a great chain for all kinds of distortion and overdrive sounds. Use the first EQ for pre-emphasis. Set Runciter so the filter is all the way open, just use the drive, fuzz and color controls. Use the second EQ for shaping.

The Uhbiks have tons of character on a high quality level. And this sets them apart. Nice price compared to other high quality character stuff.
To pick one highlight out: The phaser is so versatile and just WOW!

Thanks for the recommend. I'll check it out.sqigls wrote:The Bi-Phase sound is quite different to the UhbikP in my opinion. If you want the Bi_Phase sound (6 stage), then go for Audio Damage's Phase Two. It's my go-to, folowed by Big Rock for those LUSH phases! UhbikP is so bright and clean(?), (modern?...) I find the feedback a bit harder to tame. But U-He generally isn't too tame anyways, just gotta dig those heels in
Uhbik rocks!

Yeah, when these came out I was saving for the Soundtoys bundle... let's just say I saved some money.chacka wrote:The Uhbiks have tons of character on a high quality level. And this sets them apart. Nice price compared to other high quality character stuff.

Don't forget to use the Shifter (S) as "barberpole phaser". Might be the strongest albeit most exotic of the modulation effects.ryandfl wrote:Woo, I have Uhbik now. I'm particularly looking forward too putting the phaser and flanger to use.

Thaks Urs, I'll give that roll.
Transient designers seem to be pretty popular right now. Maybe people are trying to get away from over compression? I would definitely be pumped about u-he TD.risome wrote:Hi Urs, would or could a future UhBIK be a transient designer.I can only ask?

I can not apologize enough, but it appears I have believed the example I posted to have been mine, when it was not.
I seriously do not know how I did this, whether I miss-labeled, or drag-dropped (in Xp) between folders and it went wonky... I don't know. But it was in my "processed" folder, from a Uhbik preset making binge.
again my sincerest apology to all, particularly shogger, who DID make that awesome track, and who very kindly made me aware of it, and graciously accepted how fallibly-human I can be.

Uhbik-T -> Runciter (transient envelope mode) can be some pretty wild transient fun - it's a bit tricky to dial in, but can generate really extreme dynamics fairly cleanly (or completely nasty too

I just finished a 21-minute piece called Winter Solstice that's an ambient piece along the lines of Wendy Carlos' classic Sonic Seasonings. All the ambience is Uhbik D and A. I also used P and T on the flutes, and Q on the flutes and choirs.
The 'verb is gorgeous. Would greatly appreciate feedback, and you're welcome to download it for the holiday. Happy Winter Solstice
