Why don't you simply admit that the cpu upgrade never will be released, if you not even manage to release vfx 2.0 software and classic bundle, which you said comes first, and was announced too more than a year ago to be released "very soon"? Looking at all of this things like V-Rack are really a joke to be announced
SM Pro Audio is REALLY good in doing big announcements - none of them has become reality so far. So better say nothing until you really have it ready.

I too vote for a CPU upgrade, since I guess then it presumably could suffice to run OP-X PRO-II!
The VFX Edition of OP-X PRO-II (which actually already is prepared for a VFX based hardware player that has enough CPU power) already runs stable in the V-Machine, but only using 3-4 voices (dependent on the release time) at 256 samples, and it sounds awesome over the V-Machine's convertors!
So if the CPU upgrade indeed accelerates the processing power by about factor 3 this probably would suffice for the full 12-voice polyphony. Really would be a dream to be able to use OP-X PRO-II with such a tiny box

Hello
The V-Machine has dropped considerably in price, so I'm thinking about buying one to expand my live setup with some Rhodes, Mellotron and string machine sounds. I'd like to run MrRay73 (the old free version), IK Multimedia Sampletron, GForce Virtual String Machine and maybe some of the Arturia synths. I'm not really a skilled player and rarely play more than 4 keys at a time. Is the V-Machine able to manage this without glitches etc.?
I'm sorry if there's already an answer to this in the thread, but 152 pages was just too much to read through

MrRay73 works well (even the mkII), can't say about Sampletron, VSM, and Arturia, but I have these working:
Elektrostudio synth pack (although V-Machine produces a nasty glitch in about one minute every time a new program is selected)
Waldorf PPG Wave V.2
SQ8L (loads instantly!)
GSi VB3
GSi Mr.Tramp
OLGA (not too many voices, though)
quadraSID

Thanks for a quick answer.
Good to hear that MrRay73 works well. That's the most important one. Would it be pushing it to add an amp-plugin like Amplitube 2 after MrRay73 to get some Twin Reverb flavor? Or is there a lighter amp-plugin that's known to work in combination with MrRay73?

Hmmm, Amplitube can be a big CPU hog. And I noticed that V-Machine chokes if you play a lot of notes under sustain pedal (like a glissando sweep)... So I guess not.
V-Machine DESPERATELY needs a CPU upgrade, and SM Pro Audio is unfortunately very quiet about all this. Supposed non-beta VFX software is "in making" for quite a long while now...

Yes, I've heard a lot of stories about the weak cpu and I'm a bit concerned about this. But seems like it could suit my needs for now. As long as it'll do a good rhodes I'm pretty happy.
Thanks a lot for your help.

The software seems to have turned non-beta/2.0 now without any big notification:

Does this mean the cpu-upgrade will follow now (cite: first the software, then we'll concentrate on the hardware)?

That's still a beta... Almost one year old, even!

Oh. Didn't see that. But yeah, basically this is the same version as the last beta released. Nothing much changed. At least IIRC.
Time for more silence from SM Pro Audio.

Or not... This was posted on the SM Pro forum:
"The software has now left beta status and the classic keys collection is now released and available in stores world wide.
http://www.smproaudio.com/index.php/en/ ... collection
Most countries already have stock and V-Machines now are already shipping with a DVD in the box with the V 2.0 software and manuals included. As mentioned when this happened the focus would then be on the CPU upgrade. Also as mentioned news about the CPU upgrade will be placed on the www.smproaudio.com website closer to the release date."
