Awesome! A U-he public beta is normally as stable as another companies v1.2! :hihi:
Hehe, that's true. But this time we need some serious extra testing. We might do a pre-release sale with a considerable amount off in order to get proper tests of some new features. Still not sure if we e.g. get proper multicore support going and how the whole cpu killing will be received (Diva's filters are based on expensive electronic circuit simulation techniques, so you can't play much more than a chord per core... unless you're in eco mode, which is about as cpu intensive as TyrellN6)

There's a lot of complex matter in Diva... we could hardly reuse any existing code.

Ewww, guts! :-o

Is that code for the variable pulse wave?
I think it's part of the morphing triple-oscillator (unlike the original, we allow for seamless transitions between waveforms)

I hope me PC will be able to play at least one voice :hihi:
I guess it won't though :hihi:

Cheers

Wait and see... just don't do unison sounds :hihi:

(some filters are not as bad as others. J8/J60 can be quite economic, as can MS20, I think Rev.2, while Mini and Jp6/aJ are a bit more expensive... and there might be room for further optimisations in November)

Go for it, mad propz for not scarifying sound quality.

That said, computer only get faster so, no problem.

And the freeze feature also exist ;).

Sooo, you're basically insisting that I pollute my here-to-fore *virgin* graphics/CGI (dedicated) machine with audio apps, then?

O.k.!

I've got a 12-core MacPro who is aching to do battle with your latest CPU slayer. Bring it on!

Hopefully you mean a jazz chord and not a normal triad :hihi:

Hey, yeah ~ "chords" are where you touch MORE than one key at a time, huh? Sometimes even using BOTH HANDS!

COOL! No worries here, then.

Urs, do you plan to make a stand alone version of the filters, along the lines of Zebrify?

You might get some customers who would otherwise be hesitant to invest in a new synth otherwise. It sounds like it would be a pretty comparable product to The Drop, which has generated a good amount of interest and happens to be coming out around the same time. Not that I'm trying to encourage direct competition, just pointing it out!

DAMNIT! So many great looking synths around and never enough time...or money:D Thats it! I'm never taking a wife!! :D Ummm, not for a long long time any way :hihi:

For now I'm thinking synth only, and maybe evaluate an external input for a future version (e.g. when we got to VST3)

I think a proper effect needs to process stereo, whereas Diva's voice architecture is strictly mono. If it was stereo, I couldn't play two notes with some settings, on a 3GHz Xeon MacPro.

We will however add this stuff to Zebra and hence Zebrify. But because Zebra isn't an emulation, maybe we can trade accuracy for a few cpu cycles. I'm thinking a mode for the XMF, and 3 new filter types for the VCFs, each based on the circuit simulation technique. It doesn't need to sound exactly like Mr. Zimmer's Minimoog, it would be okay if it sounded like any.
