Looks like the plugin lacks write permission in the location where it is installed.
Have you already tried starting Ableton with Administrative rights (Right Click the Ableton shortcut and select "Run as Administrator") ?

An .fxp is an individual preset and an .fxb is an entire bank. Make sure you use the apropriate menu item, .ie Load Preset, Load Bank.

If you would always want to run Ableton Live with administrative rights (which makes sense to avoid problems like these) then you would right click the shortcut, select "Properties", Click on the Compatibility tab and in the Priviledge Level section, check the box 'Run this program as an administrator'

Hmmm I'm not sure about that one..guest2 wrote:And I've run into yet another problem....
I finally made a synth that I'm happy with, so I saved the preset. Now when I open up another project and try to load THAT synth (which is saved as try.fxb) I get nothing but silence!![]()
One thing you'll have to understand is the difference between fxp, which is one preset and fxb, which is a bank of presets put together in 1 file.
If you save the preset (what you call "Synth") you made as an fxp file, and then later choose to open preset (not bank) and open that particular fxp file, does that work?

Just out of curiosity how did you get the Adam Van Baker Soyndbank ? Was it installed with Sylenth 1 or did you DL it after ?guest2 wrote:Thank you for telling me how to always run as administrator. but the preset thing still won't work for some reason, I click the little file button that says "Load Preset or Bank" then the window opens in exporer and I see
"Adam Van Baker SoundBank.fxb
BankInit.fxb
FactoryBank1.fxb"
ect...
But there's two that I downloaded, both .fxp files, and when I select them, they don't sound the way they're supposed to...
I'm sorry if I'm bothering you guys by the way. :/
Thanks

Adam Van Baker banks are not available for "download" anywhere, so if you have "downloaded" it, something shady is going on here...

You didnt download... but.. came with the download. How can that be?guest2 wrote:Also, I didn't download the Adam Van Baker thing, all the files except the ones mentioned above came with the download. Why I have them, I have no idea. haha I'm just as confused as you.
I want to give you the benefit of the doubt but you are making a pretty good case against yourself.
