Oh well, the plumbing analogy is the limit of my understanding - beyond that isn't it a case of doing the maths, rather than trying to get what it means?Urs wrote:In general, yes, but once the OTAs come into it...hakey wrote:Is the plumbing analogy (voltage=pressure, current=flow rate) no help?Urs wrote: The actual difference in meaning of voltage and current in analogue audio circuits has not yet sunk in.
If you could hire team u-he to do any project...

I guess that's exactly what they are doing at the U-He HQ at the momenthakey wrote:Oh well, the plumbing analogy is the limit of my understanding - beyond that isn't it a case of doing the maths, rather than trying to get what it means?Urs wrote:In general, yes, but once the OTAs come into it...hakey wrote:Is the plumbing analogy (voltage=pressure, current=flow rate) no help?Urs wrote: The actual difference in meaning of voltage and current in analogue audio circuits has not yet sunk in.

That would be an awesome community project

Quickly thrown together using Zebra, Bazille and ACE

Non-traditionally, already in there!mcnoone wrote:physical modeling
A dedicated phisical modeling OSC would still be interesting though.

Analog circuits are why I switched majors from E.E. to C.S... Talk about brutal.Urs wrote:In general, yes, but once the OTAs come into it...hakey wrote:Is the plumbing analogy (voltage=pressure, current=flow rate) no help?Urs wrote: The actual difference in meaning of voltage and current in analogue audio circuits has not yet sunk in.

A U-he sampler please!
As already suggested a sampler which is based on the Zebra architecture with all the modules and osc fx, filters, envelopes etc would be absolutely immense. Imagine being able to load in a waveform of a System 100 or an MS20 and tweak it inside Zebra, personally I'd throw away Kontakt in a heartbeat if this were a reality!
And if it could house the Uhbik plug ins and contain it's own mixer I would most likely do all my mixing inside it and not use anything else.
We need to start sending Urs subliminal messages, maybe in the music on the U-he users soundcloud page...?

A polymoog emulation!
As per my earlier post on this subject:
... apart from the dual divide down structure, the other main charateristic to the sound seems to come from a set of fixed resonators. Any takers?

Take a look at MOTU MachFive 3. It's like Omnisphere, but you can load user samples and has scripting too. The first real threat to Kontakt, IMO.Bronto Scorpio wrote:
A sampler would be really nice. A modular sampler like Zebra. With additive, granular.....sampler modules
And all kinds of wacky stuff to trigger/modulate/f**k up the samples
Can I have this sampler tomorrow plllzzzz?

I know that the chances of it happening are less than non existant but:
I'd love for u-he to be comissioned by propellerhead to do Zebra as a rack instrument inside Reason. Hey we could ask for anything right? :)

I think it fare to say the expressed desire for a U-he Sampler has been (thus far) the biggest single request/suggestion in this thread.grandmasterbird wrote:A U-he sampler please!

A "mixer" would definitely be necessary (IMO) to route and control the amount of signal to/from the included Uh-bik effects (or derivatives), which should also be mapped to/from or WITH the mod-matrix of the forthcoming U-he Sampler
OBVIOUSLY ~ the "instrument building" capabilities incorporated into The U-he Sampler, would spawn COUNTLESS custom third-party "libraries", sample-sets, and presets of the innumerable "vintage" synths so many people want to emulate, AND/OR already HAVE emulated.
In addition to generating here-to-fore unimaginable NEW hybrid "instruments", given its U-nique approach to synthesis and sound generation/manipulation (et al), with its ability to load Zebra and/or Zebrify presets, mappings, and oscillators.
Sorry, just trippin' on the possibilities of The U-he Sampler.
Ooh *name* > Ampler
[as in: MORE "ample" than...]
re: "ample" - Adjective:
1.Enough or more than enough; plentiful.
2.Large and accommodating.
