Shuffle must be done on some basis - in our case it is probably 16th notes (in your convention). When you think about it, you cannot shuffle subdivisions, such operations is not only ambigous, but makes not much sense. The basis the shuffle is done here is in regard of most rhythms and the typical tempos (say 80-140). I believe this works very well in most cases. If this doesn't fit your rhythm, use double/half time feature in the rhythm editorgoldglob wrote:Any reason why 8th notes can't be shuffled?

Yes, these days 'shuffle' usually means 'swing the 16th's', as in hiphop or funk shuffle and MDrummer does that perfectly. I was thinking about the old 'jazz shuffle' which is I guess just '8th note swing' (but with the 'upbeats' prominent and persistent). But I can see that to create this it makes more sense to start with an 8th note triplet feel, then use shuffle to find that sweet swing spot between triplets and straight 8ths. Works perfectly.

Ok, so it's ok, right?
I mean it would be possible to have some "shuffle type" setting, but I think that's kinda too much.
