Hi everyone!

I have a small but annoying problem.
Here is an example preset: http://www.bronto-scorpio-music.com/Dow ... ingArp.h2p (Click "save target as...")
Does anyone know where the annoying clicking comes from? I tried everything! It seems to have nothing to do with the envelopes :help:

And please excuse the silly example preset

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Here is how it sounds like: www.bronto-scorpio-music.com/Music/ClickingArp.mp3

ARP mod turned back to 12 o'clock stops it.

BTW the presets is lovely old school acid... not silly at all

I guess that's for accents or something tho ? probably can get it to still work with a bit of fiddling. Didn't the old 303 boost volume rather than res for accents, never owned one so not sure

Thanks! Thats's it!
I guess the ArpMod doesn't get smoothed. That's easy to fix. I'll just use an MSEG for this kind of things :)

I'll try that asap!

I can't really remember. I made it ages ago. Sorry!
All I know is that I used Wave2Zebra to create it.

Ha! I tried a silly workaround! I used the mod matrix instead of the direct modulation slots for the modulation. The mod matrix doesn't get updated as fast as the direct modulation slots iirc. Seems to work like a smoother :)

thx I'll have a look. If I load two waves one at each end does it morph as in zebra or do I just load lots of different ones in each slot and use zebra for all that ?

I always load 1 wav in the frist and one in the last slot if I want to morph between two wavs. Then I load the OSC preset into Zebra, maximize both wavs and morph between them :)

I use the Java version of Wav2Zebra btw.

The filtered FM mode also clicks, how to work around that? ... probably by selecting the normal mode. :P

Never noticed that. But I haven't used the filtered FM much to be honest (I should change that).
Zebra has so many functions that it's almost impossible to master them all :)
This synth will keep me busy for the next 20 years (at least), especially after the 2.6 update :D

Quick offtopic but "click" related question: :D

In analog synths, the punch is still there if the VCA attack is set to longer times other than minimum?
Or the punch is related to the Gate .. (where the current can't wait to get in the open, so as soon as a key is triggered "bumps" out into a head start creating a warm punch we all love. )

So, what's creating the punch? Envelope attack or the gate... or both? How's the punch relationship with different attack values?

Or.... an envelope generator is practically a gate with additional shaping possibilities ?

Can't really answer your question but download my preset above and look at the MSEG1. I used my "Attack Bump" MSEG preset there. I apply it to many presets (mostly on volume). It can add a nice subtle punch :)

Yeah, I'm also recently using MSEGs to generate punchy accents, but they are not the full story as I've noticed.

I tried different approaches but I'm trying to get closer to the real thing. Just need some answers.

Here's a method I've been experimenting with just now.

More noticeable with higher notes.
Blend the punch level by using the Return2 volume.
This type is independent of main EG.

Try higher notes as well and blend the punch level by using the Return2 volume
Nice idea! sounds great! :)
In Bazille I often send the main output to both VCAs but I use a really short ENV for the second VCA. It's another method to add some punch.
