I'm guessing here but what you could be experiencing is that parameters arnt automatically mapped to anything in Sonigen Modular. It reports 12 automatable parameters and it's up to you to select what they modulate in SM. You have to open the signal menu, (right click on a module) pick the target from the first menu, then go to the controllers sub menu, and pick AutoParam. If you click on the little automation icon on the resulting panel, you can select which of the 12 parameters it sources from.

It's a bit more effort than I would like it to be but it's limited because VST2.4 doesn't supporting dynamic parameter lists.

Many thanks for your speedy response. I'll give this a go later. The synth appears quite a challenge to me as I've never used a modular synth before, the possibilities seem endless. Excited by the prospect though.

Not had time to explore it properly yet but I see that it can load samples

What are the thoughts on that?

The samples can be loaded as part of the Wavemaker in order to make wavetables.

Feel free to use your own or whatever wavetables, just as it was with Zebralette.

But it's not like you'd expect, here's an extract from Chris' explanation about it: (here is the whole post)

"It doesnt load wavetables in the way existing synths do. Its explained in the "WaveMaker" section in the documentation.

It works by extracting an harmonic series from a sample. You load the sample, select the position at which to perform the frequency analysis (in the waveform panel), then you adjust the base frequency of the series (in the frequncy analisis panel, the lower one)."

It has taken me a little while to understand how the user interface works. My first reaction when opening the synth was to start trying to dragging the cables round to connect different parts. So it's not intuitive to use initially. I eventually had to read the manual to find out that you need to use right click menus. A UI thats more 'drag and drop' oriented might be better. Its early days for this synth and I am sure the developer will continue to improve it

I have been experimenting with the wavetable module a bit now and understand when you say it's not what you expect.

It is however an excellent feature

After playing with it for a few days now, I have managed to put together some interesting patches. I can see this one staying in my regular VST list purely for the wavetable section and all the exciting new sounds that can be created with it

This synth is amazing, I'm loving playing with it so far (of course being a Trance guy a pre-built supersaw is gravy).

One bug I'm having is in Ableton Live 8 on 64bit Windows 7 I can't type into the save screen to save my patches. It keeps drawing notes in the midi screen instead.

Similarly in Reaper, pressing *space* plays the song instead of entering a space... other typing seems to work.

I don't currently have access to a pc so haven't installed Sonigen yet, but was hoping to have a look at the manual.

Is it possible to get a copy of the manual without installing Sonigen? Couldn't find one on the website.

This synth looks great! Can't wait to play with it!
