Anything is going to be better than 1 GHz CPU that's inside it right now. And this one is going to be dualcore, which means at least it will be able to run Pianoteq admirably. And even Zebra 2, or perhaps even a few voices of ACE, too. Not to mention we'll be able to layer more synths together.
As long as it's a dualcore and somewhere around 2 GHz, that's going to be fine by me.

Same with me. Of course this small machine won't be able to have an i7 inside, the cooler for it would be bigger than the vmachine itself
but when it allows to run some of the more demanding plugins, PLUS still is stable and reliable, this would be enough

Kronos doesn't run VSTs. Kronos runs specially coded stuff, and Korg's engineers did miracles there to make it happen. You cannot compare a Kronos to general-purpose VST instruments, sorry.

But are there at all still plans for a CPU upgrade for the current version V-Machine? Could anyone of SM Pro Audio comment on this?
At least you made this bold CPU ugrade announcement by yourself, already years ago, and since then users don't know if they still should hope for it or not. At least say yes it will still come or no it won't.

Also anyone use the X quartz http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/X112.7.0 updates for X11 with VFX ? I wondered if it would help with the occasional plugin GUI issues ?

That would be my guess as well except I think it's through them directly .... NovaMusik for example has no price change and they tend to stay up on if a product they sell is being closed out or not . So IDK .raintalk wrote:Dead product?
Manufacturer close out?
I just wondered if that ment the device was upgraded and more efficient than before or if they are only calling it V2 based on the Vfx app ?

They're calling it v2 because VFX application went out of beta to v2.0. Otherwise it's the same.
