Is there any news on a possible distortion module for Zebra? I'm soooooo close to finally folding and spending the cash, but I use distortion a LOT in my new found synthesis obsession so it's the only thing really keeping me on the fence.
There are ways to get a gritty Zebra today. It takes a little more work than a single module.

I recommend watching Andrew's tutorial on Zebra2 diry bass sounds:

The new Zebra 2.5 filters add considerable presence with the drive knobs and that can be further enhanced byputting a shaper after the filter in Wedge mode.

Nick Moritz also had a clever use of the strong compressor as a distortion unit:

All of that should (hopefully) hold you over until Urs finishes Diva and comes back to Zebra2. ;)

Hehe it was watching all his videos that pulled me in again in the first place.

I'll be more than happy with the current methods of teh dirt and I can always throw on my favourite Quadrafuzz or Camelphat for now as well.

SYNC module? :hihi:

Oh boy, reading this thread has been nothing but a treat! :) I love Zebra, can't wait to play with the new stuff! :D

Don't forget about the OSC resolution to 11 thingy! :D

I use them almost all the time...
I run out of them almost all the time!

So, big up! :tu:

What if the distortion module had a morphable transfer curve that you could draw and modulate like you draw and modulate oscillators?

An independant sync module would be awesome, though not really needed, it would be good if it was possible to do syncing outside of the oscillator engine (with it's resolution shenanigans (that I personally haven't even been bothered by)). Perhaps it could have various sync styles, like a multimode filter... *drools*

Also, Zebra should be able to give back rubs via a USB gadget.

Wavetables?

Zebra's oscillators already have 16 waves that can be swept as a wavetable, what the hell?

Yes... 2 more of those and so called "Modulation Modifyers", in short "ModMods"

That's a concept I've been juggling in the back of my mind for a while. Kills a lot of feature requests with a simple interface. Great for Westcoasters. We'll see...

(or did I already post bout these? *burp*)

I think a sequencer is a great feature for any modularsynth...
Please Urs think about it...
between the msegs and the arpeggiator, Zebra has a lot of that stuff covered already

With a wavetable editor could let convert an audio file into 16 waves. That's very cool to hell.

True. However there's Wav2Zebra for the time being.
