For sure it's allowed to put up a manual, but best to let Chris clear this.

About the wire connection method, I actually think the right-click menu thing is quite ok, I can't imagine how it would look with points for every possible connection if it was the drag-wire system as each module has quite a number of connection possibilities.

Really appreciate it. Thanks! :D

edit: I think you've got the wrong month (Oct instead of Nov) by the latest update...

Post

Fixed the month and put a download link for the pdf version of the help file you sent me.

I've got a little problem here.

My host is presonus studio one and I can't seem to get automation to work. All the parameters listed are labeled with "paramete"... I don't know, if it's only a mistake in the text... didn't try, if those parameters are linked to any controller of the synth?! But if I use cutoff, for example, studio one doesn't recognise, that there is any midi-data sent by the synth??

If I remember it right, the automation is the last thing you've integrated into your synth.. maybe there are still some bugs left?!
I hope you can help me out! ;)

Take the parameter you want to be controlled, for example "Cutoff".
Second mouse button -> Cutoff -> Controllers -> Autoparam.

Now you could be able to use the automation.
Each instance of Sonigen let you automate 12 parameters, and you must specificate them previously.
Anyway, it seems not working here in FL Studio. (Or maybe i'm doing something wrong)

Have a good day, i hope it works :)

Here's how to do it in Reaper: (for filter cutoff in this example)

I'm seeing the same thing in Ableton 8.2.1. The parameter list has the parameter number missed off the end. So all the params appear as "paramete".

They seem to map correctly and I can guess which one is parameter0 but it would be nice if they showed correctly.

Cheers

Fixed the parameter name issue, going to download FLS and do some tests on the automation.

Thanks,

Ok, as far as I can tell the only way to link an automation clip to an automatable parameter is by the plugin sending automation movements to FLS. You move the control on the plugin, and then go to FLS and click last tweaked control, and that's the only way to make the linkage. Unfortunately Sonigen Modular does not currently report automation so as far as I can tell it's a not possible to set it up. Maybe someone more experienced with FLS can say for sure.

Hi Chris,

is there anything to look after when updating modular regarding existing patches?

Post

"The AutoParam names can be changed to whatever you want by editing the "autoparams.txt" file in the Sonigen Modular Data folder."

Works fine, only 8 characters though.

There's been a couple of occasions when features have been depreciated but that didn't stop patches loading. If people are using it, making patches, writing songs with it, I don't think it would be fair to break backwards compatibility.

The only other thing is that the installer will overwrite existing factory or included user patches, so if you've modified any of those, you will lose that.

But there'll be no major changes during the OSC.
