clean and simple is best, no faking hardware... looks gash, gets in the way.

Another vote behind the 'toy-like is bad' statements. I would rather have an instrument that looks bland than goofy, generally. I want to be able to look at it and think 'respectable machine right there'.

Fxpansion blew the Synth Squad interfaces in that regard, imho. I demoed them and really liked the string synth a lot, but the cartoon graphics were one of the things that kept me away from it/them/the set.

+1 :tu:
I really don't want to offend anyone and I usually just speak good about things I like and never bad a about things I don't like but that GUI.....:hihi:
It's really like the designer read a book about the most common beginner mistakes in graphics design and tried to get as many of them as possible in one GUI :hihi:
It's blurry, the 3d look is completely off, way oversaturated and come on....lens flares? They were cool in 1999....for about a week.

Just my 2 cents of course.
There are actually people who like the GUI :)

I have one rule when it comes to design, and that's that form should follow function. Diva is an amalgam, and it should look like one. It makes sense, and I think it's cool as hell.

I think the whole 3d knob thing is cumbersome. It's fine to have 3d knobs in video games and in real life, but come on!!!
Although, if you're trying to evoke nostalgia for those old-timers and seasoned analog pros...(I'm not one, I was born in 85 and the only thing I played in my childhood was a super cheapie, dusty, half-working Yamaha.)...I suppose it's fine to do that. A prime example(this is my taste) of a bad GUI(but a great synth) is Poly-ana. 8)

Me too :hihi:
Sadly I can't remember how it was called :(
I hope the flanger was broken! It was noisy as hell! I LOVED that sound! Never heard something like that again :)

Who knows, I'll start using it and maybe it'll start growing on me.

I think mine had a flanger BECAUSE it was broken... :help: :hihi:

EDIT: That might be a neat idea for a patch contest... Emulating broken effects units?

Keep in mind that some of the features which were new in version 2.5 aren't available with that skin.

Which? I found some are harder to get to, for example prefill shape in comb filter, but if some's not visible at all, I'd like to know. :)

The undo and redo buttons for example. But I'm almost sure there are a few more things. Just can't remember what they are at the moment.

I actually find it much harder to use than the std skin, but it's all subjective really. reaper has it right with the ability to reskin, but ofc, it's a DAW not a VST and that level of feature is justified. I think most people will be satisfied with one skin, that's easy to understand and doesn't look like a 12 yr old made it in a cracked copy of photoshop :D

No!

I love it too, and hope a new GUI version is made on top of it.
