Hi guys
i purchased zebra 2.5 last night and have to say it seems to be spectacular
it my first time in this forum though, and i would like to ask you a pair of questions:
1) what can you suggest to me for learning to use zebra? any decent video tutorials ?
2) according to you, what preset bank should i purchase ( or download if its free) being a completely noobie in the synthesis field?
thanx in advance for your answers

Hi,
1) Here are the Zebra tutorials http://www.youtube.com/uheplugins
There are also many more Zebra videos on youtube.
2) You can download tons of free presets here: http://www.u-he.com/PatchLib/
Think that will keep you busy for a while.
Remember that you also can load ZebraCM and Zebralette sounds into Zebra.
Cheers,
Gerald

Welcome to Zebra land
I suggest you to read the manual and watch the video tutorials (linked above).
And if you have any questions just ask them here
There are many great free presets in the patch library (also linked above).
Cheers
Dennis

If you're a complete newbie it might pay to also grab a free, simple, fixed architecture synth, just to learn the basics about oscillators, LFO's, filters etc.
I think xoxos' Clearsynth is pretty good for that, it's a very simple synth, and the presets are basically a tour of every basis synthesis technique. You could learn it in a few days and I feel it'd feed into your ability at Zebra (just as experience with Zebra feeds into other, less complex/versatile synths I use).

Hi,
Maybe you put it in wrong folder. I suggest using search for "*.h2p" to see where those are and put patches there.
My patches for example are there C:\Program Files (x86)\Vstplugins\Zebra\Zebra2.data\Presets\Zebra2

No it does not work.
from the manual :
" To create a new folder or refresh the list,
right-click in the folders pane. To rename or delete patches, use the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer then refresh the list - see below for patch directory locations. Future versions may include these functions."
And below:
Patch directory locations
Win C:\Program Files\u-he\Presets\Zebra2\
Now, i have created a Broncoscopio Folder in this folder ( it is called "20 freebies"); i go to "refresh list" in Zebra, but it does not see it

I was on a session with a user of zebra and we couldn't figure out why the presets weren't loading...rather they loaded i.e. appeared in the patch list but when "loaded" they were filled with "noise" modules...I noticed this because they said they got the sounds from Uhe patch library website which then led me here.....Great site by the way...so I looked like a real dope because I couldn't get this working for them....as an engineer sometimes your clients expect you to do the "legwork" okay guilty I surrender...this is part of my legwork....is there something we are overlooking or more specifically.... I am overlooking....They were trying to load massive preset FM and your string ensemble files....however nothing comes out that sounds like those instruments....is this one of those situations where I have to tell them to read their manual?....thanks for helping me to feel or rather look less dumb....or at least I hope you will....PietW. wrote:Ok. My Patches for Zebra2 are in this Folder.
VSt-Plugins - U.he - Zebra2.data - Presets - Zebra2
I hope this helps.

Maybe you can send us a screenshot of the GUI when you load the patches and tell us the patch of the patches.....but the GUI with the Synthesis tab may help a lot.Sajin7 wrote:I was on a session with a user of zebra and we couldn't figure out why the presets weren't loading...rather they loaded i.e. appeared in the patch list but when "loaded" they were filled with "noise" modules...I noticed this because they said they got the sounds from Uhe patch library website which then led me here.....Great site by the way...so I looked like a real dope because I couldn't get this working for them....as an engineer sometimes your clients expect you to do the "legwork" okay guilty I surrender...this is part of my legwork....is there something we are overlooking or more specifically....
