getting stuck notes in ableton8+win7x64. Start out playing a chord, using the ableton chord midi plugin, on the init patch but with voices set to 2. You do this with enough overlapping chords and then you get hung notes and from that point on every note you hit is a hung one, have to delete and replace the vst instance

Seems you can get it just by exceeding the amount of voices, e.g. just slam on the keyboard with as many notes as you can at once. Not that you would normally want to do that of course, but hey its a bug

I cannot reproduce this with a similar setup... can you try my preset "sync chaser"?

The preset plays fine but if I turn the quant knob (the one in the mod panel) down to zero, that kills Diva every time. Weeeiiiird.
Okay, I can reproduce that one. If I set Quantize to a value other than zero before patching a connection, everything is fine but as soon as the value hits zero, the sound drops out. Interesting.

Mac track pads have inertia so when you use the two-finger gesture to scroll through values, the parameter may keep moving depending on how fast you are making adjustments. You can turn the inertia off in system preferences to make that stop.
Thanks. I was too excited to look one thread down...

I'm not going to turn off inertia as I can momentarily get into the habit of taping(and most of the other controls work beautifully with inertia), but, man, it really makes me realize how much I like two finger scrolling to turn knobs and sliders without having to click. That feature has probably added more to my enjoyment of using software than anything else.

ETA: Initial weirdness was with the triple osc and the dual vco has a similar issue with two finger scrolling. Turning vco2 moves detune and turning detune all the way to the min or max moves vco 2. (this is actually pretty neat to watch! This could be a good mechanism somewhere else. )

The Detune and Range knobs are tied together on all of the oscillators. I think it's a pretty cool feature. Using the scroll wheel or two-finger gesture you can scroll through the entire range of each oscillator. I think this has been causing a bit of confusion because it kinda looks like a glitch but these controls are designed to work that way.

I updated my patches...

I didn't do any exhaustive testing. It's still possible to get hanging notes if you switch to a patch that uses ADS envelopes while a note is held. I'm not getting any complete drop-outs anymore.

I can confirm this, but not with every patch and/or configuration. I've uploaded a patch that displays this behaviour. Playing 6 notes is okay, 7 notes will trigger the bug, i.e., the note isn't stuck, but it sounds like the release is upped (even though the envelopes aren't using release at all).

[edit] okay, it's definitely the ADS VCA that's causing it over here. The other ADSRs are fine.

How to reproduce hanging notes.
Win XP
host Renoise 2.51

Edit: Sorry. Wrong reproduce method. This one is even easier.
Try this instead.
1. open Diva, change to 2 voices, mono.
2. play some rapid notes, some voice hangs.

(I recorded my midi this time so I can simply open the project, insert Diva, change to 2 voices mono, press play and I get hanging notes)

<no longer valid>
open up Diva, default patch
play 4 rapid notes
change from 8 voices to 2.
Change from poly to mono
play 4 notes again, the last one will hang.
</no longer valid>

By hanging I mean it keeps playing the last played note.
Playing new notes sets the osc to the new frequency ok so it is the VCA's that get stuck. And/or some confusion of what voices are actually playing.
Or something completely different I can't comprehend ;)

Not really a bug but,

The labels are too small.

Especially if you resize the gui down to Small (which you do if you are running on a small 1024*768 laptop)

Working on the normal gui is the obvious solution but scrolling around is no fun. And there seems to be plenty of room to upsize the labels a bit right?

+1 - Trackpad is great!

In the course of redesigning the gui resize we will switch to pixel fonts for smaller text. This is not yet available though...

In Logic 9.1.5 I am getting sticking notes (Almost taking my ear drums out while wearing headphones!)

When I try to change patches to get rid of the sticking notes, Diva goes totally silent even though midi is flashing.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before.

This patch always starts hanging notes if I play more than 3 notes: http://www.box.net/s/rgi1qqv5hf2hlk9akho4

Funny enough, I can kill the notes with transport controls in Live, although once Diva starts note-hanging behavior, it keeps it up - so long as the amp envelope stays in ASD. Switching envelope modes has produced various results from clean to Diva losing sound.

Which notes hang seemed to follow the note priority IIRC, but I wouldn't swear on it.

Not sure what this noise is, or what's causing it, but it sounds bad to me.

I just found a bug in the Dual VCO 1 (Jupiter oscillators) while doing a Octave Brass sound. In Osc 1 the coarse tune "8'" and "16'" both have the same pitch and when switched to "32'2 it got the pitch of the "16'". In Osc 2 this works like expected.

Sounds like buffer is fuxxored, or "buffuxxored'
