Right, here's an opportunity to dig into past hits and get DIVA roaring. Post preset requests from your favourite tracks. (Bearing in mind that the patches should be reasonably achievable with DIVA).
Lets get going with:
-Yazoo, Don't Go lead
-Europe, The Final Countdown lead
-Animotion, Obsession synth chords

One of the free patches available in the other thread is already pretty damn close to this one. I heard the patch and thought of that song immediately. If I stumble across it again, I'll post which one it is here.HunterKiller wrote: -Yazoo, Don't Go lead

firstly it was Howard who suggested they have a separate thread for this, which I assume he will use as ideas when he is creating the factory patches for Diva... I have had this convo ad nauseum, why do some ppl think you have to create presets to be a 'real musician'? Sound design is an art form.....some professionals find it more beneficial to buy or hire programmers who are talented at these sorts of things whilst they play music and earn a living.....so many great musicians don't program.......
ridiculous.

I love these kind of threads (if something comes out of it........after all, Urs wasn't against the idea, not all of us are patch wizards). I don't know if it was a Pro-One (I have owned one since 1981, and I never got a sound like that, though I think effects had a lot to do with it): I dig on the intro sound of Yaz's "Situation" (sure would be cool if Diva could do that sound). I bought a Juno 106 in 1984, and it quit working 7 years later. Instead of fixing it for about $200, I bought a Roland Sound Canvas SC-55 (though I still own the Juno 106 for sentimental reasons). Listening to Urs' video of his Juno 60, I thought to myself, I don't remember my Juno 106 sounding quite so full (don't know if he added any effects). I don't know how many Jupiter 8 sounds/patches u-he wants to come up with, though when I think of Jupiter 8, I think of Duran Duran, Howard Jones, Journey, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, the Cars, Blanc Mange. I have tried the Arturia Jupiter 8V preset sounds (including Arturia's Analog Factory) and surprised by the lack of Arturia patches with sounds from the bands I just mentioned. I would like it if Diva had patches form the groups I mentioned.....at the risk of being "lame".

Sounds similar but no cigar. Original is dirtier. Slight FM mod perhaps?

I think Diva is amazing but I would rather download and examine totally new and fresh presets instead of copycat versions of some known song, but that's just me.
