What I was trying to say is it's difficult to get much of an idea of what's going on when the audio recording is so poor.

speakers + room noise + crappy camera mic = bleeughh! (why do people even bother making these vids?)

Besides, DIVA can get pretty snappy. ;)
I never understood that either. There are people with 20k$ Buchla systems who then record them with their crappy camera...:hihi:

Excellent, actually getting into Diva has caused me to go and check out ELP for the first time in my life (I am 40!!) just to listen to how they used the Moog. I got Tarkus and have been really digging it.
Tarkus is awesome - ELP get a lot of bad press for some reason but they really were an amazing group. Each one of them is a highly talented musician and their musicianship on Tarkus in particular shines, from the tight integration of percussive drumming and keyboard skills, to Greg Lake's superb bass and guitar playing, not to mention his voice. I consider him one of the finest male vocalists in rock. Pictures at an Exhibition and Brain Salad Surgery are also brilliant.

There are some really great patches in here. I particularly like the quasi classical instrument sounds. Cage Quartet is very reminiscent of a real cello, and Clearinet and Magic Flute both have something of that organic textural Boards Of Canada aesthetic to them (which I love but can almost never use because it just makes everything I write sound like Boards of Canada  )

Hi everyone,

for those who want to reprogram Minimoog patch sheets in Diva like i do currently i tried to create a "conversion table" for the envelopes, Cutoff and Envelope amount:

https://rapidshare.com/files/2435554895 ... lues_1.zip

Below the tables i added two hints about the VCF Sustain level and the Cutoff.
This is based on measurements based on samples taken from both the Arturia Minimoog V demo (as i got no real Mini...) and Diva, both times with a test preset that only uses as few values as possile. The Arturia seems to be a bit far from the real sound of the Mini (mostly in the low end) but the values seem to be quite precise.

For Keytrack there are 3 values: 0, 50 and 100.

For one preset i checked it with this video:

I still got some problems with the Oscillator detune amount. Maybe someone with a real mini could post a conversion here.

UPDATE:
While reprogramming a famous Bass sound i found that the VCA Decay values seem to be wrong, at least for long Decay times like e.g. 1000 ms. I got those using a signal analyzer and no samples (recorded into Wavelab Elements 7 like i did for the VCF and VCA Attack) but i'll update those soon.

UPDATE:
I updated the link for the table with a corrected and updated version now.

The link for my "conversion table" in my last post is corrected and updated now.
Now i try to concentrate on doing more of those Minimoog presets.

Hi everyone,

here is the latest update of my Diva presets with 47 presets now:

https://rapidshare.com/files/1931886089 ... 1.2011.zip

Those include my old presets (e.g. Jupiter 8 ) plus some inspired by Polysix, Minimoog and some others.
The Minimoog presets (name starts with "MM ..." are mostly based on patch sheets and my conversion table (see my last 2 posts above).

Most of those patches use Modwheel, Aftertouch or both modulations.

Have fun,
Ingo

The Juno-60 factory bank is now complete. I understand that these patches are dated (hey, those were the eighties, and were just beginning), and that by today standards several of them, specially the acoustic emulation atempts. may seem laughable.
However, these may be good starting points for something else, as it already happened to me. And there are a couple of extras in the bank too, like replicas of the famous Van Halen Jump sound and of the classic Vangelis Bras "alla" CS80.
I corrected several previous mistakes, and the patches seem pretty close (IMO).
The only thing I still didn't manage quite to dominate are the LFOs (the delay seems always too short, and the modulation amount too deep compared to what it should be). Anyway, here they are, and hope you find them useful somehow.

Since there are so many and very skillful people already working on the Jupiter and Minimoog, I will probably go on with somethoing else I have in mind.

Here's a small amount of presets, mostly "quickies" from Friday night. Still have to check out the MS20 side of things more :)

Hi everyone,

here is the next update of my Diva presets which are 80 all together now.
Around 60 are from the Minimoog and most of those are based on patch sheets.
I have also corrected the keytracking, legato and pitch bend parameters of the old Minimoog presets.

https://rapidshare.com/files/1231079355 ... 1.2011.zip

UPDATE:
This i a corrected version is some of the detuning amounts were wrong.

More presets will follow soon hopefully. :)

I'll focus on Minimoog and Jupiter 8 mostly but maybe also some "mixed modules".

Have fun,
Ingo

Hi,

thanks for your kind words. Working with Diva is real fun as it just sounds great.
With the help of my conversion table it's much easier to program the Minimoog patch sheets now. I still got a few problems with the OSC detune and the Glide amount but i'll try to calibrate those too. Until the final release all of the Minimoog presets should be fixed.
BTW i just corrected the waveform in the "MM ELP Trilogy" sound. The waveform in OSC 1 should be a Square (like the other two) instead of a Pulse. I just found another patch sheet where this was easier to see.
I'll publish the corrections with my next update. :)

BTW in many presets i added the vibrato with the Aftertouch and not the ModWheeel as this is the the method i prefer. You could change this yourself if you like. :)

If someone with a real Mini (i used the Arturia Minimoog demo version) wants to correct the conversion table he could contact me and i'll send him my Microsoft Excel table.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving I want to thank everyone for their generous sharing of patches. I'm totally blown away by Diva and what all of you have programmed! I've never had so much fun playing with a softsynth before - maybe any synth! My experience with Diva is so visceral at times - just what I've dreamed/hoped could be possible with a softsynth. It feels so much like hardware!
