This one is different to the original IMO. Is this the same as in the audio demo?
yes it's the same as in the audio demo .
Hi,

i just got the midi file of the song and tweaked your preset a bit. Here is my first try....
WTF for one entire page u tell me that my patch is not close, it's all wrong (and your explanations frankly were laugable) and that pak's is closer...
thenu use my patch to make your insignificant "edit" where u hardly change anything??? and call it your edit???

btw my patch is called "yazooodontgobrass" and author is "kvr forum" (cos mogular and UltraJB gave me some suggestions so i thought to keep it as a collective effort)...if u or anyone does further edits on my patch do not change this. ty
i worked on it for many hours not for some wanna be sound designer to come and claim it by just moving a slider slightly.
thanks

Sorry i first thought you speak about the preset with the "EDIT" but i realized that nobody downloaded it.
I guess you speak about the Jupiter patch which i thought is different enough but i deleted the link now.
The first try which i posted was based on the Minimoog modules and i did several but not big changes. I just added "...IW_EDIT" to the name and left the descrpition like it was. The second try (which is the one you downloaded as far as i could see at Rapidshare) was based on Jupiter modules and sounded different IMO. It was not my intention to "steal" anything from you.
This would also not be really possible as i wrote it's based on your preset...

I don't think Ingo meant any harm.. :) Anyway, I slept in between those posts, so you must've been up all night at it!

Your dedication paid off - it's a nice job. You stuck it out with the LFO mod and (unless someone points something else out :) ) you've probably done the best overall job that can be done in that regard.. the noise isn't too bad, probably helped by the fact that you turned osc 1 down and sync'd it (more noise with three oscillators!)

Modding the resonance is indeed also a nice touch and, overall, I'd have to agree (annoying noise I don't like aside ;) ) it's closer for it than mine.. so congrats  ;)

jupiter modules? oh...
apologies then i must have reloaded my own patch instead by accident xD (my eyws are a bit tired now lol)...infact i was" wtf did he change? i don't hear any difference..."....

anyway to all: i don;'t mind edits to my patch and infact I encourage it (and i bet is further improveable) as long as the author remains "kvrforum". i think it's fair that way.
cheers

thanks...don't tell me we can bury the hatchet finally ? ;P
to be honest from 10:38 last night (since mogular suggested the resonance mod )there ain't been much change
osc1 was always only used for sync and FM only (never on). that was my first reason for using the moog oscillators (to have more control).
last night
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/50331508/gettingthere.wav
and this today
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/50331508/olikan ... opatch.wav

just better reverb a bit more tight the enevlopes with the midi...and finetuning the FM a bit to atenuate a little of that nesty (aliasing?) noise which btw bothers me a lot too! (i have some reservation on the sound of the FM).

anyway was defenetly a learning experience.
daniel miller was one very sick producer that is for sure (i doubt vince had his hands in the final brass that went to record).
sync was just an intuition for a bit of zing like in sync stabs, the FM mod quickly spotted by ultraJV, the resonance mod would have not crossed my mind as being useful for that sound if mogular hadn't suggested (and that's defenetly part of the sound). so all in all it's everyone 's accomplishment. although it's everything but a perfect result.. :P

the next step is appplying some kind of telephone box eq (it wouldn't surprise me if daniel miller recorded it directly out of the arp's speakers)and subtle tape delay. but it's nothing than concerns DIVA anymore.
good continuation...i'm taking a long break from here....also cos i'll be busy somewhere else ;)
cheers

Hi,

based on Olikana's preset and the original song i tried a different approach for the don't Go preset based on Pulse waveforms and different filter + envelope settings.
Also no Sync involved in that. I had this idea as i thought the preset could need some more high frequencies.

link: https://rapidshare.com/files/1715064984 ... _EDIT2.h2p

This is not to show Olikanas preset is beter or worse it's just to show a different approach. In a PM Olikana told i could post it.

UPDATE:
A short audio demo (with no external Fxs) of my preset is here:
http://soundcloud.com/ingoweidner/ingo- ... nt-go-demo

Here is his last version of olikanas preset for comparison:

Hi,

yes i use v360. Really strange.

I'll do a short demo based on the MIDI file soon.

If you allow me...

As presets request i'd choose Wakeman's ones from this album :

Especially the awesome and frantic passage from 5'44'' to 6'33''

I guess that the connaisseurs might know immediately what i'm thinking about...

:tu:

thank Urs and his crew for such a wonderful synth

and a HUUUUGE thank you for your humility, the sincerity of your passion and for sharing it to us

Strange. I posted my zip with the presets (see above) and lots of downloads today with no problems reported. Older versions of those presets were even included in the PatchLib so those zip's should work.
I am using 7-ZIP: http://www.7-zip.org/
BTW are you on Windows or Mac? I am using Windows 7 32-bit.
Ingo
i'm on XP...i'm not installing 7zip just to open your zip. can't u just link the audio clip directly to the forum (the way i did) so it streams directly?
anyway downloaded 3 times the h2p preset...renamed it and everything but still won't load (no change wahtsoever)...i wonder if both the zip and h2p are getting corrupted for me or something in receiving them.
explains the misunderstanding we had earlier when i got mad about your preset being just mine with a different name...cos it wasn't loading lol.
football time now...closing kvrw for tonight.
have fun

nothing ingo. looks i have problems with downloading files from rapidshare.
files report as downloaded...but they are unusable (cannot be opened).
and looking at the miniscule filesizes of the downloaded files on my pc it's obvious it ain't downloading the files in full...for example your wav shows here as 165kb in size which obviously can't be. it's downloading the headers and not the actual file.
