Anyway, what made the Korg PS series unique was the triple resonators, that I suppose were some kind of Band Pass Filters connected in parallel almost at the end of the signal path [but I could be slightly wrong here]. The Main Low Pass Filter was a wick affair -- sounds like a 6 dB/oct Lowpass filter with resonance -- ''peak'' in Korg speech -- but had its very own character, with some weird distortion at the max resonance peak value... And then there was the massive polyphony that was achieved by octave divide down, but that would not be essential to emulate the general sound itself... and, of course, the very well specified patch-panel.

oops... sorry , I thought you were asking for ideas about a new modular synth that you were planning to begin developing. Only now, after looking at the other thread ''DIVA - public beta available'' did I realise that you were talking about emulating classic analog synth sounds with an already developed product. That's what can happen if one rushes in using the ''Latest Posts'' column at the right...
Sorry for taking the topic slightly astray. Anyway, Diva looks like a very interesting synth. I've just downloaded the beta demo to try later.

I think he means that Korg just built a few units (which was indeed the case). But I agree that this would be a sought after synth, although I never tried one.Axis1~SL61 wrote:Never heard of it, but it could well be as you said... can you give me an example?xh3rv wrote:Hasn't the PS3300 only been emulated a few dozen times in hardware in the first place?Axis1~SL61 wrote: As far as I know none of these have been emulated in software yet. ]

System 100, yes... like in Berlin Modular maybe?Urs wrote:In that case... System 100, 800dv, CS-30 (uh... too flexible), OB-Xahakey wrote:Don't worry - no expectations, just a 'what if' thread.Urs wrote:please don't expect too much anytime soon.
Please, take the time to finish it.
Or if you want to do something else, do it with style... like the Matrix-12

For those of you requesting various iterations of Roland's SH series, I have a question.
I have the SH-1000 (Roland's first synth). It has a gorgeous, crystal-clear sound. It's a single-oscillator synth (though the filter is self-resonating).
Now to my ears, Diva really nails the sounds I used to get with the SH-1000. So how would you describe, if possible, how the sound of say, the SH-101 differs?

If Diva could apply it's techniques to emulate the SID chip's oscillators and filters, I'm sure it'd be the best SID emulation in the world
I'm not sure if there's a bit of a chasm between the chiptune nerds and the pro-analogue anoraks, but I consider the SID a classic synth like any other.

Yeah, I just meant the synth design was humorously massive in hardware, would be a strange turn to see it widely available in software

They all have different characteristics though.
I'd definitely like to see the Pro One in there though.

We yet have to service my Pro One. And then we want to pimp it with the Synthex' circuitry. The Pro One ought to be ideal for those 'speriments.

An accurate ProOne and Prophet5 emulation would be something.Urs wrote:We yet have to service my Pro One. And then we want to pimp it with the Synthex' circuitry. The Pro One ought to be ideal for those 'speriments.
