Never heard about Jean Michel Jarre's "laser harp"? This sound is from a Elka Synthex.Fred_Abstract wrote:never heard about the Synthex before xils labs plugin, is it that good to make it worth a emulation in diva? nice for the pro one filter and what do you think about the sh101 Urs? you re not a fan of this synth?

The 101 is relatively similar to what we alraedy have. I might need to check it out a bit more, but my current impression is that there must be something more far out that we can do.Fred_Abstract wrote:what do you think about the sh101 Urs? you re not a fan of this synth?
Otoh, a lot of things can change in a year or two...

Ohh wow! Thanks for the link! I always believed that rumour so far!Urs wrote:The SH-3 has the Diode ladder, the SH-3A has the Moog-style transistor ladder, according to http://fa.utfs.org/diy/roland_filters/index.htmlBronto Scorpio wrote:(especially the SH-3A with it's weak Roland filter)

So which modules are the closest to an SH-101? I assume the OTA Ladder is pretty well the same filter? And would the Dual VCO be the closest osc?Urs wrote:The 101 is relatively similar to what we alraedy have. CS80 is nice , the same option can be found also in the mono-CS (from CS10 to CS30L); what is different among the CS imo is the distortion acted from the VCAs inside these machines (when not well calibrated the ig00151 may give out some soft-clipping); the poly CS are not really aggressive machine, filter-wise, rather they are quite flat sounding (the real deal in the CS is in their VCOs) : their flavour is made by putting the HPF feeding the LPF with different cutoffs and resonances so the sound may turn to real acid.
One real option can be, always in my opinion the CEM3350 from the Rhodes Chroma

It's a filter with a real personality and, most of all, nobody seemed to have tried it yet <hint, hint>

Oh yeah, Rhodes Chroma is an amazing sounding analog! Especially with the expander!
A bitch to edit, though.

does anyone know what the difference is between the cs10 and the cs80 in termsof components , filters etc? i tried googling for some info but can't find much. from what i see it's an entire different family but who knows...maybe something in common?omissis wrote:CS80 is nice , the same option can be found also in the mono-CS (from CS10 to CS30L); what is different among the CS imo is the distortion acted from the VCAs inside these machines

One thing I would love to see from the CS80 is the ring modulator and the velocity-and-aftertouch-controllable-everywhere approach in its user interface. The latter makes it very much a player instrument to me.
Peace, my friends. I'm not seeking arguments here.

I'd be interested too. We did get a CS-30 recently, which is strange little fella with a lot of awesome.olikana wrote:does anyone know what the difference is between the cs10 and the cs80 in termsof components , filters etc? i tried googling for some info but can't find much. from what i see it's an entire different family but who knows...maybe something in common?omissis wrote:CS80 is nice , the same option can be found also in the mono-CS (from CS10 to CS30L); what is different among the CS imo is the distortion acted from the VCAs inside these machines

The polyphonic and monophonic CS synths have nothing in common afaik. Purely based on some internet articles which I can't remember at the moment (Probably Amazona.de).Urs wrote:I'd be interested too.
