I've seen a few mentions about people getting Zebra working on Linux, and I saw a few comments about problems with the text. Any clue's about how to fix the above problem, for someone who doesn't really know Linux much.

This is on Ubuntu, with FL Studio running through WINE and WINEAsio.

It makes the correct noises and everything, its just I don't know the interface well enough to use it ATM.

Cheers, me dears.

I'm pretty sure that's a known bug (something with the Linux file system not sorting files in an expected manner) and his planning on fixing it.

You need Lucida Sans unicode

C:\Windows\Fonts\l_10646.ttf

Just rename Vera.ttf to it

I'm sure that there was a solution as well, I'm just too wet behind the ears with linux to get it sorted. I have my Windows7 partition for music, but use Linux for everything else so it's nice to have FL studio open while (trying) to do my college homework for example.

*fingers crossed* anyway, and cheers!

I also found it necessary to switch to the Unempty Dark Horse theme, otherwise the tab select buttons were all messed up.

I had noticed that too, but it didn't seem such a pressing issue :D

Have you had to do anything to 'create' wine compatability, Urs, or is it luck?

Also, while we're here (...) any recommendations for other VSTs etc that work well?

I don't have any Linux here...

The main probelms are the font issue, and the randomness of files being reported in a directory (random knob positions - parameter is correct, but picture displayed is wrong)

We are aware of these issues and we'll eventually get there, but first we must get Diva out :)

Thats the only issue I've noticed (only got WINEAsio working properly a few days ago) and could see there was a solution but couldn't find what it was :) I am glad it works though. Any further testing needed for your new bits and bobs?

*will check for beta threads in a bit* :)

A lot of vsts will work fine, there are two tweaks which will get nearly all working,

1, missing fonts is a general problem in wine but easily fixed, use winetricks to install 'allfonts'

2, a few graphic glitches can remain in some applications, often these can be resolved by using windows own gdiplus dll (select install a windows dll in winetricks, select gdiplus to install, then go to wine configuration->libraries pick gdiplus from new overide menu, click edit and change load order to 'native(windows)') I dont have zebra, but this might fix the problem with messed up tab select buttons.

A third issue I've found is particular to Diva/Uhbik/Tyrell/Ace, which Urs mentioned results in randon knob positions. This is due to ext file systems, which are typicall of a linux install, not automatically sorting the files in a directory. The workaround for this is to install the plugins to a fat32 partition (ntfs did not work properly for me)

Here's a list of VST's and VSTi's which should work (at least they work in the Vestige VST wrapper of LMMS...): http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Tested_VSTs
