Are there any factory patches for DIVA?

Hi,

i just found i have to re-check the tuning of some of my Minimoog presets maybe.

I found that a fourth is equivalent in a detuning of +5,0 and a fifth +6,94. The confising thing is that a detuning of 6,94 switches to the next octave which is why i thought it's wrong. :)
Example: use 8' at OSC 1 and detune to 5.00 (+ 5 at the label). This is a fourth. If you dial up to 6,94 which is a fifth it switches to 4' and -5 at the label. at the Minimoog the labels were from 0 to 7 where 7 is a fifths.

This was really obvious as Diva displays the detune in semitones but i was confused by the octave switching.

I'll post an update when i'm finished. There are not too many presets which use such a big detune amount.

A perfect fifth should be at 7.00. O.o;

Here is the corrected version of my presets:

I also changed the file in my original post.

Yeah but i found that 6.94 seems to fit better. My failure at Diva was more systematic as i thought the scale of the knob is different (e.g. a fifths at 5 instead of 7 at the Minimoog) but it just does not feature 7 semitones like in the Mini. Of course if i look at it now it's obvious.

It also depends on the osc detuning on the Trimmers page. If you set the Max Detune knob to 0 a detune of 7 will be a perfect fifth.

I just updated my presets zip. There are about 90 there now.

You're all wrong. :P

A perfect fifth of 3:2 frequency ratio is closer to 702 cents above the first degree (a perfect fourth, being its inversion, is closest to 498 cents).

To be honest (like already mentioned) i did not want to discuss the precise setting in cents as my general problem was that i totally misinterpreted the range of the detune knob in comparison to the Minimoog where the label is up to 7 or more...
Besides that i trust more my ears at setting the perfect fifths (or others) which is not exactly at 7 semitones in Diva like on most real analog synths.

Well, 7 equal temperament semitones - 700 cents - is not a perfect, 3:2 fifth on any instrument.

But you surely know that they were talking about a well tempered "perfect" fifth, right?

is the current KVR beta bundle up to date with all the patches in this thread?

The unzipped folder's last modified date is Nov 26, so thanks to Bmrzycki I'd assume that gets most of this thread.

Urs mentioned working towards the finalized state of properties that would change the way patches sound for a beta possibly coming over the weekend. It's worth noting that as a consequence things may sound a bit different with that version.

I'll keep both versions (by renaming the old one) for comparison and/or correction of my presets.

I am waiting foir the new version to do more presets (and to possibily have to correct my previous ones). Namely, the octave selector bug is really annoying, and could lead to lots of mistakes.

Unless Ingo can, by ear alone, pick out the exact phasing frequency of two oscillators tuned at a well tempered fifth, I suspect that he was talking about tuning to a "just" fifth of 3:2 ratio. ;)
