That will come with Diva when it comes out? I'm kind of hinging my decision on purchase with how extensive the preset library will be. I'd also be interested in knowing how many sound designers are planning on making sounds for it.

At the Diva patch lib there are already tons of free presets:ddeez wrote:That will come with Diva when it comes out? Most of those are already in the patch lib.
AFAIK there will be lots of presets by Howard scarr and Big Tone in the final version.
My own presets are in both links above while in the second i always post the latest update (latest yesterday).

I guess that at the final version Diva will have more presets than most other synths i know...ddeez wrote:Thanks for the response! Yes i like your presets very much but i am a preset fiend and am thirsty for more believe it or not lol.
Some people seem to wait for the new beta version to correct their own presets before posting new ones. I have to check mine too and will keep both versions for that.
Until the final release i should also have some more presets. My guess is a final number between 110 and 130 but let's see.

As always, you should make your decision on what is currently available... That said, judging by the enthusiastic response to Diva even as a beta, I guess there will be lots of presets showing up, both commercial and free in the coming months.ddeez wrote:That will come with Diva when it comes out? And I'm sure the factory presets will be awesome
Quality is more important than quantity imo

I think we'll have about 150-200 presets from Howie, plus 200+ selected ones from contributions.
We'll add more presets with updates.
Problem is, we've had our hands full with many, many issues - tuning the filters too two weeks and stuff. There's not enough time to get e.g. Michael Kastrup on board if we want to release before x-mas.

I'd prefer to see all of Howard's patches in one place, rather than spread across the category folders, as they were with ACE (or do both).
Might it be possible to get Howard to balance the patches from different contributors so that they all conform to something like the same loudness?
And definitely get Michael Kastrup on board for later releases.

Most costumers won't care much who made the presets.
And I'm sure it will be worth listening to the presets of other contributors too
Some kind of "Best of" folder may be a good compromise.

What's the opposite of "or do both"?Bronto Scorpio wrote:I'd prefer the oppositehakey wrote:I'd prefer to see all of Howard's patches in one place, rather than spread across the category folders, as they were with ACE (or do both).

I think we'll be "doing both"
AND there's the question of CPU-hit. It might be a good idea to keep CPU-cheap and CPU-expensive presets apart... dunno yet.
