Thanks,
I used your Vox emu in a track the other day that required a The Doors organ type sound and your emu of the Vox organ fitted perfectly.
Great plugin,
Will download this new one and make a donation.
Thankyou.
Steve

I have just updated Combo Model F to v0.9.1 beta:
- Added sustain pedal support
- Added round tones to treble voices
- [Windows] Smaller installers
- [Mac OS X AU] Fixed various memory leaks
If you are using the 64-bit AU version, then could you please report back whether this build works for you, and what version of Mac OS X you are running? Thanks!
Thanks for your feedback, I will consider using pitch-wheel for vibrato speed (and perhaps also for other controls).Ojd wrote:I thought about binding pitch-wheel to vibrato speed. It makes perfect sense to me as vibrato on/off is modulation wheel, vibrato speed might as well be nearby. However it is impossible in current version. I'm using Axiom 49, and i've tried many organs, I even sampled combo-organs myself. I think this option would be cool.
The latest beta version now includes sustain pedal support.Ojd wrote:Now i think you should add sustain option (standard cc#64). I've already written some songs involving sustain switch, so i could free my hands for another keyboard (I talk about live playing here, in recording all this doesn't matter as you could just write automation), and it would be a shame to give up such a nice instrument in favor of the mediocre one with sustain option.
To be honest I have no plans for such a project. Sorry!Ojd wrote:And just to dream a little bit: I've been looking for someone to make transistor-sounding piano. Rock-si-chord sound was pretty good, but as a kontakt library it ate ridiculous amount of cpu power (which i better dedicate to lower latency than to sample library). Anyway you could just use your Farfisa organ engine to make Farfisa Professional Piano.
You are very welcome, and thank you for donating.synthmagic wrote:Thanks,

Always grateful for these updates
Could you elaborate on the intended use of the plugins' own MIDI Out, please? Here, in Cubase 6, having routed a MIDI track to ComboF (or V), I can open a 2nd MIDI track (routed to any other VSTi or external synth), with that track's input set from the Combo's MIDI output, and it will indeed duplicate anything I send to the Combo... but (unless I'm missing something very obvious)... what is the intended purpose of that, please? It isn't transmitting anything from the Combo's GUI, so it is, effectively, just acting as a MIDI thru.

I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

There's a video on youtube, with one of the guys from Hall and Oates, jamming with Manzarek and Krieger, and the opening shot is of Manzarek's 'Connie Vox.' I guess that's neither here nor there really, but your plug-ins always seem to remind me of Manzarek; and Manzarek reminds me of these plug-ins.
Great stuff! These 2 plug-ins (ComboV/ComboF) are excellent... thanks for the update...

Yes, it indeed is just MIDI thru. In some hosts (e.g. REAPER) this makes it easier to layer multiple VST instruments.vic_france wrote:Could you elaborate on the intended use of the plugins' own MIDI Out, please? I have just uploaded another pre-release of ComboV, which includes pitch wheel/bend, so the next version of ComboF will also include pitch wheel support.Tale wrote:Thanks for your feedback, I will consider using pitch-wheel for vibrato speed (and perhaps also for other controls).Ojd wrote:I thought about binding pitch-wheel to vibrato speed. I like the way you have implemented pitch bend and that the control returns to it's original setting. Very nice update.
Anyone have any recommendation's for emulating a vintage signal chain for these organs. Was it customary to run them through a guitar combo amp?

Yeah, a guitar amp like the Vox AC30, or a bass amp for a little more low end.MRT wrote:Anyone have any recommendation's for emulating a vintage signal chain for these organs. Was it customary to run them through a guitar combo amp?

I dragged a 90lb Farfisa Compact Deluxe all over the midwest for two years in the early 2000's and kinda wish I'd had these back then. Though I gotta say, I do miss the ghostly reverb'd hum it made as it was warming up. Maybe that will turn up in a future release
Anyhow I always played mine through either a Ampeg Gemini II combo amp, or a Fender Bassman (silver face) through a Sonic 4x12 cabinet. Tube amp is the only way to go with a Farfisa. Never used a Vox, but I imagine the same applies.
I like to run Combo V/F through Fuzz Plus or TAL Tube for a bit of extra meat.
