MuPad seems to work better and better, but:
When you click 'edit' on Element 3, in MU.LAB 4-0-73, it pops up a window with the meta parameters you've mapped, but it doesn't show the meta parameters in the blank space at the bottom of the GUI.
In MU.LAB 4-0-74, the knobs appear in the knob space, but not on the pop up when you hit 'edit'.
Interestingly, MuPad presets created in 4-0-74 behave correctly in both the knob area and the pop up when you open them in 4-0-73.
Nice new click! I never quite could my finger on why I didn't like to record to a metronome in the previous versions. It wasn't too loud, just ugly as f**k!
More testing to follow.

This is WEIRD - I created two parts playing the MuSampler and put them on two tracks targeting the MuSampla.
I then put two copies of the parts on other (targetless) tracks. This muted one of the sequences (as you would expect) - but not the other one!
http://www.sendspace.com/file/62aezl
http://www.sendspace.com/file/5xrwpy
The session solely uses the click sample.
I just changed the player to the 'Basic Synth' preset and both parts on Track 4 are now muted, as you'd expect them to be.
Edit: I changed the target back to 'stick' and the phenomenon is gone.
Edit#2: It happens anew when I
-change the player back to MuSampler with the stick sample
-use 'Recorded sequence(3)' and 'recorded sewquence (4)' as my test sequences.
sorry Test sequences, not TEXT sequences...

Yes there is a bug there.Bonteburg wrote:MuPad seems to work better and better, but:

It's already fixed in here.
I hoped to upload M4076 before someone noticed that bug, but you're quicker
M4076 will (normally) be there tomorrow afternoon (CET).
It will also contain a nicer knob, and some other improvements

If i understand well: The problem is that there is a part on a track-with-no-target but the part does play, right?Bonteburg wrote:This is WEIRD - I created two parts playing the MuSampler and put them on two tracks targeting the MuSampla.

...
I loaded the session you sent (thanks) but can't repeat that problem.
Is that problem also there when you reload that session?
If not, then we can be quite sure it's about a temporary update problem.
So in that case i would like to know how i could repeat that.
I tried recording a sequence, moved it to an untargetted track, but it does not play, as expected.
Hope you can tell me how to repeat it.

Ahh! closing and reopening MU.LAB does indeed seem to fix it. No sound on the untargetted tracks.
It only happens again when you're adding new sequences(not when you just copy the sequences saved with the last version of the session).
As for the issue itself:
I I just repeated it but this time all the parts I copy from the recorded sequence are playing on any untargetted track I put them on.
Moreover, it happens with synths too now.
Creating the phenomenon should be as easy as recording a part, dragging the player to the track it was created on (so as to change the player from 'Intrument XY rack' to 'instrument XY' proper) and putting copies of it on any other (untargetted) track.
I'm not sure if it's a problem as such (I can't see anything particularly bad/annoying coming from it), it just strikes me as somethnig you wouldn't expect to happen.

Targets are 100% defined by the track.
If a main track has no target nothing should play on it.

M4075 is running fine on a couple of windows systems already.
I googled for this message and stumbled on this: http://www.renoise.com/board/index.php? ... n-startup/
Maybe it helps?

Can you please bring back the old behaviour (or at least finetune the new one)????
The new CTRL-Click/Doubleclick feature to create a new Sequence/Audiopart in the tracklist is looking nice, but how to load/open existing ones...always have to open the sequence manager is a real real bad idea and I don't find any other way...even the context menu hasn't got an entry for that...

There are 2 ways, for both audio and sequence parts:Trancit wrote:Can you please bring back the old behaviour (or at least finetune the new one)????

1) When such part is selected the part property panel pops up in the bottom left of the composer. click on it to change the currently used audio file/sequence.
2) In the context menu of such part you have "Choose Audio File" / "Choose Sequence". That does the same job. And for it's in a context menu, it's a shortcuttable function too
Hope this works for you.
I think it's an improvement that M4 does less popups when drawing new parts, M4 is a bit more auto decided in a good way, imho.

I'm liking the new double-click to draw a new part feature. (IMHO it should have been like this all along.)
MULAB 4 is going in the right direction, all over.

You always assume, that at that point in the track, there is already a part...You are wrong, there isn't any...mutools wrote:There are 2 ways, for both audio and sequence parts:Trancit wrote:Can you please bring back the old behaviour (or at least finetune the new one)????

I think it's an improvement that M4 does less popups when drawing new parts, M4 is a bit more auto decided in a good way, imho.
And that brings one issue on the table: To load up an existing Sequence at a point, where is none at the moment, you have first to create a new sequence or copy one to this place to be able to use the features you mentioned...
In MuLab 3, imho, it was much easier to doubleclick somewhere in the track, choose an existing sequence eh voila, it appears at the wanted position...what's wrong with that...
That means to me double work and I always have unused sequences in the manager and popup lists, which I have to delete all the time...
I don't think, that is the right direction...
And what do we win here???mutools wrote:I think it's an improvement that M4 does less popups when drawing new parts, M4 is a bit more auto decided in a good way, imho.
In MuLab 3, if you draw in a part, a popupmenu appears...you have to click on one of the entries...
With the new method, if you draw in a new part, a popup-picture appears...you have to click on one of the pictures...
edit...I've seen, you only have to do it once, ok...that's a nice feature, but we need a better one to be able to load an existing sequence at a wished point, without creating a new part...perhaps a shortcut like CTRL Click = new behaviour and ALT Click = the open sequence menu appears...
