That's the best soprano sax midi emulation I have ever heard. I am impressed.

Already had it for a couple of days now.

:D
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

Wow, only 119EUR + discount... :tu:

What's the CPU hit like, and on what hardware?

For what I know CPU consumption is higher than a standard Library Player, but is much less than a pure PM Synthetizer.
SWAM engine seems to give a good compromise between realism and expressivity with a quite good performance in term of CPU usage.
Here some info http://www.samplemodeling.com/en/swam_mssaxs.php
However, the best thing would be to find someone who bought it and ask him directly... of course

If you are familiar with the Kontakt versions of the Sample Modeling instruments, then CPU use is comparable to that. Or probably even slightly less, I would say.

So it uses more juice than a straight sample-based instrument because of the scripting and whatnot, but it runs better than Kontakt because the SWAM engine is specifically optimised for the task.

Of course a direct 1:1 comparison between the two engines is not possible because they have not actually ported any of their existing products across.

HTH.

Of course, the main benefit of this instrument is the natural dynamic range of the instrument and interconnected notes being possible.

With this instrument it would be possible for one to fool the majority of saxophone players.

I'll bet you can't do this on your regular sample libraries!

I don't think so

Well I played saxophone professionally for over 10 years, the soprano sax being my primary instrument. And I also own Ms Sax S.

Let me tell you, the way it SOUNDS and the way it PLAYS... it's definitely there.

After years and years of waiting for technology to catch up, I reckon I could get away with substituting my real soprano for this and most people would probably be none the wiser.

I'd like to buy it...

EWI & SWAM... nice couple !

Some customers asked how to get a more crystal clear sound on Soprano Sax.
Here's a comparison (small improvisation) between SaxS. equalized +7 dB on HiFreq (Hi Shelving 3000Hz) vs the flat version...
