Hey, that's cool. Finally a new software update for the Receptor 2!

Some new features:
- Smart snapshots (program change in presets within snapshots)
- Improved USB support (hot swappable)
- Support tools

Let's try it out... :-)

I just tried it out. Indeed, the smart snapshots do work!

The idea is that some large samples are fixed in the snapshot (e.g. Ivory or Rhodes within Kontakt), while quick loading VSTs are flexible (Plugsound libraries, VB3, Mr Ray73, Analog/digital synths etc.).

Just what I need...
now finally I can switch sounds quickly while having an extensive sound palette... enough to fill a complete setlist with!

That's a nice Christmas present from Muse... ;-)

On short term, I might have a small present for all of you too... (work in progress)

p.s. Also, the Kontakt multi-core support has been improved in this Receptor release.

p.s. Here you can find a tutorial for smart snapshots:

Good news! It has been almost two years since I heard about smart snapshots. Better late than never I say. :)

Would be great if it worked for effects too, since they generally load quickly. Maybe in a future update? Still, I look forward to trying this out.

Cheers!

Actually, it does work for FX, that part was just not demonstrated in the video.

So ~ I've just read the release notes...

I was told, about 6 months ago, by a Muse-tech, that I should turn off the Dual Core mode on my Receptor.

The Release Notes seem to indicate that I can now run, even more efficiently, with Dual Core enabled.

Can Muse please confirm?

Yes, the Dual Core mode switch will improve efficiency if you have the 1.9 update,

Well, I'm looking forward to installing the Upgrade.
Thanks Gary!

Any chance the Omnisphere 'Flashing' GUI will be addressed after this latest OS upgrade?

Will this setting effect each instance of Kontakt already included in a snapshot, or do I need to go through and re-initiate all of my snapshots that include Kontakt ? If the rebuild is necessary, is going to take quite a chunk of time. Does dual core in Kontakt make a dramatic improvement in performance within Receptor? Thanks for any feedback.

If you follow the video and have Zload off the change to dual core will be universal. You will not have to change each patch :)

Thanks,
Gary
