I take it back - it was AniMoog being resource hungry I think. Phaedra running Sunrizer and Molten seems to be very happy.

I also got it running through Alchemy (free, not Pro) but it was a strain so didn't sound good. I think Pro allows you to limit polyphony so that might sound better, and iPad 2 would help to...

Grabbed this but not tried it yet - cheap enough to take a gamble on imo :)

FWIW I just got a 'camera connection' kit from China via ebay for £3:50 inc post!!! I got it as I've got an M-Audio usb midi cable lying around and thought it was worth a gamble too see if I could get it working and I'm happy to say that it appears to do so!!!!

Tried it with 'Addictive' and I could play midi from an old Roland EG-101 into it and it sounded very snappy latency-wise. Couldn't get it to work at all with Animoog yet and iMS-20 only played 'drum3' but I'm guessing my midi routing skills have been sapped by VST's ease ;)

Anyway, sorry to stray a bit OT but my next plan is to use Phaedra on my Mopho now and jam some stuff out. I'll report back :)

Never thought my iPad would bring this much inspiration - haters can say what they want about Apple and their products but since I've had it its just got more and more useful and more importantly I'm enjoying the 'journey'. Each new app I get seems to multiply my desire to get in the studio, so haters can hate but I can't here them!!!! lol

You might want to check your Roland's MIDI channel. I think Addictive responds on omni and can't be changed, but iMS20 probably routes each channel. I left my keyboard on channel 16 and most things didn't play first time I tries with the iPad - took me ages to realise.

I think your right mate, I think I remember changing it to another channel in my hardware days ;)

Thanks for the advice.

Does look pretty cool if you want to sync a bunch of stuff from one place. Like with the iMS-20 though, the UI seems crazy dense and analog sequencing is not how I think about sequencing *at all*. Still, love seeing this kind of stuff.

Anyone found out how to adjust the number of steps ?

Press and hold the Set Reset button at the bottom. The end note in each bank shows in green. Just tap where you want it to stop.

Thx, one thing you don't like to press, is surely the Reset button.

Sorry for my ignorance, but I just got an iPad yesterday, so haven't figured out lots of stuff yet. How do I hook this to Animoog? Animoog shows Phaedra in MIDI inputs, but when I choose it and start Phaedra nothing happens.

EDIT: OK, figured it out myself!

How did you get this working with Molten? I have been trying lots of different things and I can't even get Phaedra to start Molten

Anyone got this working over wifi or the camera kit ?
It's really silly that you can't select your midi i/o .. or am I missing something ???

External midi clock sync via USB Alesis io Dock unusable.. Emailed devs and they said they were working on it. I would prefer they didn't advertise these things as features when they are obviously in beta or not working at all, very annoying. StepPolyArp and Genome do this well. It should be a basic requirement of any Seq app and any VI app that uses any time based features ( arps etc)
That they sync to ext midi clock.

This has been a standard in any midi hardware device since 1985 and any AU/ VST Vi forever. . C'mon developers if you are going to pitch your apps at pros give them at least a usable spec in the real world.

Phaedra is not a toy synth app, it is clearly aimed at a certain type of user yet lacks one of the most basic functions of a seq, sad.
Let's see if they update this one or it will be yet another half baked effort of a really good idea..

Currently useless :(

Also be aware that it's iOS 5 only, and I'm still on 4.3 on my first iPad, which is used for this stuff :x
