Hi friends,
so finally i managed to finish a track on only three evenings.
PocVecem - panta rhei - The Eternal Flow (4:56, 92 bpm)
Cubase 6.05 64bit on Windows7 64bit
AMD PhenomII X6 1090T
34 x Diva (10 drums/percussion + 24 instruments/fx)
lots of automation used (volume, pan, cutoff, ...)
no send fx used, only Diva's fx
insert fx:
4 x BlueCat TripleEQ (bassdrum, snare, synthpads)
4 x E-Phonic X-Pressor (bassdrum, snare, noise percussion, bassline)
Masterchain:
Variety of Sound RescueAE -> Voxengo Marvel GEQ -> TLs Mastering Maximizer
No sampling, freezing or bouncing. Song is playing in realtime.
Normalised to -0.3dB, mp3 encoding: lame 3.9.8, VBR, highest quality settings
And always the same old song: downloaders will have more fun listening!
All my best wishes for 2012 to you all from bavaria,
Gerald

Hello all,
I just shared my first OSC track, it is called "Resonant Sea".
http://soundcloud.com/orville/orville-r ... a-v9-osc35
It was done in four nights using Ableton Live 8 on an 2007 Core Duo Macbook, using 8 Diva instances.
All effects are from DIVA itself. No other plugin or built-in effect is used.
Automations have been used to control DIVA volume, cutoff, resonance, modulation depth...
No mastering plugin has been used, the sound is coming directly from the DIVA instances.
Your comments are greatly appreciated!
Best,
/O

I have gone back and forth several times about whether to enter this month's contest. First I was doubtful I could learn Diva well enough with the other demands on time to make really good patches. Then after playing with it for couple of days, I had about a dozen patches that I really liked. Then the beta changed and 10 of the 12 no longer worked. I decided to shake that off and start fresh with a different approach. Then another beta and the patch bay went away. That was it. I was done. Until... Diva 1.0 came out and I heard all the great presets that came with it. I decided to make one last stab using presets with some minimal tweaks. I had just started when I was called out of town. I won't be able to get back to my studio until after New Years. End of debate. No entry this month.

chacka - Diving with a Diva
Wow, what a ride! This is lotsa fun. 43 instances of Diva, all freezed as my computer wouldn't be able to handle this even remotely.
FX used:
ReaEQ
ReaComp
TLSMaximizer
TALverb 2
The rest is internal Diva FX.
Some host automation for volume rides.
Enjoy!

edit: Forgot to meantion the host: Reaper

Hi Dave,
that's sh*t. I feel with you.
If you're on Windows i can recommend Paragon Partition Manager for making images of your system. Takes perhaps 10 minutes to save/reinstall the whole system. Think there's even a free version available.
Important: Save the image to another (external) drive.
Cheers,
Gerald

Oh shit, mates! since i went listening every track this month i'm totally down, lol.
There are amazing tracks from you all compared with my crappy one.
Even thinking on deleting mine, lol.
In the another hand, thanks, i will encourage myself to be better and learn how to create sounds with synthesis like some of you do.
I missed totally the new presets and maybe this is why my track sucks, lol.
Other than that, Happy New Year everyone guys and also sorry for the driver guy.

Oh, no! Even if you think that the quality isn't good enough that music is from your heart. And nobody can ever do that better than you. Honestly, never forget that. Sometimes others like what comes from your heart, sometimes not. Sometimes you just have to find the right people who are touched by your output. I don't want to live without this creativity even though I think often that others are better at doing this or that. But it's mine I'm doing. It's me. Nobody can be better at that.IrionDaRonin wrote:Even thinking on deleting mine, lol.
