Hi,

Just wondering if documentation is available and if any other modules will be added. I just got me license today and am enjoying tinkering with it. Are there any plans to add these kinds of modules to Zebra?

Thanks! :)

Manual is in the process of writing.

Regarding new modules, their additions to Zebra, Urs has already said that it might happen in one way or another.

First version of the manual is finished :D. Will be included in the forthcoming update.

Awesome!!! That's just what what I needed. I have spent a lot of time since I got Diva (and today Zebra) running it in full Divine mode (okay. I have a really fast machine - and Diva does sound quite good. I am really happy to get even the draft manual :)

Diva does require a *lot* of *tweaking* but it is rather good especially when combined with real analogs. I know that this sounds silly but you can use Diva and apply the Kyma Tau algorithm to it using a CS80 input and you will get astonishingly wonderful results (but you need a Kyma/Pacarana setup for that and a CS80) --- and speaking of the CS80, how about a filter and oscillator model for that on DIVA? Any thoughts?

And I don't mean this to be feature creep ... just that the CS80 and some others (Elka, VCS3 etc...) would be nice.

I own a CS80 and it is going into the shop for upgrades, recapping and re-chipping (and you can find my CS80 on Youtube - just search galaxiesmerge CS80).

Since I also am awaiting arrival of my SOLARIS from John Bowen, I did make the same request there as I am concerned that the CS80 sound will fade into history and not be available in a virtualized format.

Any reactions are welcome.

Cheers!

Excellent job Howard. Thank you VERY much for this preview. I find it a very informative reading pleasure, much like the ACE and Zebra manuals. It went into the brain very smoothly and I came away with great information that will surely aid me in future sound design.

1. You explained that the Voice Map Modulator "specifies general-purpose offset values for each voice." What did you mean by this statement? What exactly is "general-purpose" referring to in that context?

If you're asking about the meaning rather than just highlighting this passage - some examples would be assigning VoiceMap to panning for stereo spread, individual tunings in a stack of voices that play a chord, or all kinds of subtle unison tweaks with stacked voices. So, much like the MMaps in Zebra or TapMap in ACE.

hi,
the only two synths for me that are missing are the Oberheim OB-XA (well maybe also the Xpander but I am an oberheim fan) and the Yamaha CS-80.
I think the OB-XA may be a possibility but hte CS-80 may not.
why?
cause I think the process is they need a physical unit to do all the modelling and tweaking etc.. and afaik the CS-80 are extraordinarily expensive.. maybe after yours is recapped etc, you can loan it to them and that way you will get your wish (not to mention so many others of us :-))...
yes wishful thinking I know

Thanks Snigelx. I fixed that line so that it makes more sense (I think):

* Voice Map Modulator knobs specify values for the VoiceMap modulation source. Use VoiceMap for any offsets you like, e.g. panning, cutoff, resonance...

and fixed the related error I found on the next page:

* VoiceMap the 8 general-purpose offsets defined at the bottom of the Trimmers panel

Next version of manual, OK... Any more errors etc.?

Please excuse me for the following stupid question - I haven't been keeping up.

I just updated to the latest Diva (517) and I cannot find a manual.

I searched the forum and found this thread. Can someone point me to the current manual version?

Kind thanks in advance

The .zip file that contains the Diva installer also contains the user guide (as we call it)

Another possibly stupid question. I downloaded and installed Diva in December, then again in January with the newest version. The file in my VST folder still has the date 12/23/11. Is that the latest, or is my installer not installing? How can I confirm I actually have the latest--is there any obvious tell in the interface itself?

Love Diva! It's slowly taking over my musical palette (along with Zebra).
